About This Role
Seeking a hands-on formwork carpenter in Cartersville, GA to build and set rough wooden structures for concrete pours. You'll work with gang forms, Doka/Johnny clamp systems, blocking, and scaffolding to create safe, level forms before concrete placement. This is physical, detail-focused work: measure, cut, assemble, and verify alignment and structural integrity based on blueprints and project specs. Up to $35/hr depending on experience - steady projects and overtime available.
What You'll Do
  • Build and install vertical and horizontal concrete forms, gang forms, and form columns using Doka/Johnny clamp systems
  • Measure, cut, and assemble lumber, plywood, and form components to project specifications
  • Set up, inspect, and work from scaffolds tied to formwork operations
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and layout instructions for form placement
  • Verify forms are level, plumb, aligned, and structurally sound prior to concrete placement
  • Strip forms after cure and perform touch-up or blocking as required

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience with general rough carpentry and formwork systems (Doka, Johnny clamps, gang forms)
  • Able to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and layout dimensions
  • Skilled at measuring, cutting, fastening, and assembling form materials to tight tolerances
  • Experience setting up and working from scaffolding; familiarity with scaffold safety practices
  • Comfortable performing general concrete-related tasks and working on jobsite elevations
  • Physical stamina for lifting, climbing, and working in variable weather

Qualifications
  • OSHA 10-hour construction card preferred
  • Scaffold user or competent person training preferred
  • Fall protection / harness training preferred
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to jobsite
  • Ability to pass drug screen and background check
  • English required; Spanish a plus
