Dog Modeling information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Dog Model, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Dog Model, dogs typically need basic obedience training, a calm temperament, and the ability to follow commands, while handlers should have experience in animal handling and training. Familiarity with photo or film set environments, experience with props and costumes, and sometimes certifications in obedience or therapy work are valuable. A standout dog model exhibits patience, sociability, and adaptability to new and potentially distracting situations. These skills and qualities ensure the dog can perform reliably in diverse settings, which is essential for successful photoshoots, commercials, or events.

Dog Modeling involves showcasing dogs in photoshoots and advertisements, focusing on appearance and temperament suitable for media. Dog Training, on the other hand, emphasizes teaching dogs obedience and behavior skills. While both roles require a good understanding of canine behavior, Dog Modeling is more about presentation and appearance, whereas Dog Training centers on behavior modification and obedience training.

What is dog modeling?

Dog modeling is a specialized field where dogs are trained and photographed or filmed for advertisements, commercials, magazines, television shows, movies, or product campaigns. These canine models showcase products such as pet food, accessories, or clothing, and often work with professional trainers and handlers to perform specific tasks or poses. Success in dog modeling often depends on a dog's appearance, temperament, obedience, and ability to follow commands. Dog models may be represented by animal talent agencies and can participate in casting calls for various projects.

How much do dog models get paid?

Dog models typically earn between $50 and $200 per hour, depending on the project, the dog's experience, and the market. Rates can vary for commercial, print, or runway work, and some models are paid per assignment or on a royalty basis.

What is the 7 7 7 rule for dogs?

The 7 7 7 rule for dogs is a guideline used in dog modeling and training that suggests a dog should be at least 7 months old, weigh around 7 kilograms, and be comfortable in 7 different environments or situations. This helps ensure the dog is mature, adaptable, and suitable for various modeling assignments. Proper socialization, training, and temperament are essential for success in dog modeling careers.

How to get into dog modelling?

To become a dog model, ensure your dog has a good temperament, is well-trained, and has a healthy appearance. Building a portfolio with high-quality photos and contacting modeling agencies or brands that specialize in pet advertising can help you find opportunities in the industry.

What are some common challenges dog models and their handlers face during photo shoots and how can they be overcome?

Dog modeling often involves unpredictable situations, such as distractions on set, unfamiliar environments, or difficulty getting the dog to pose as needed. Handlers can address these challenges by ensuring their dog is well-trained in basic commands, gradually exposing them to different environments, and bringing familiar toys or treats to maintain focus and motivation. Patience and positive reinforcement are key, and collaborating closely with the photographer and crew helps create a calm, productive atmosphere for the dog.

How can I get my dog to become a model?

To help your dog become a model, ensure they have good temperament, are well-trained, and comfortable around people and cameras. Building a professional portfolio with high-quality photos and working with reputable pet talent agencies can increase opportunities in the industry.

This is a hybrid position that has the minimum expectation to work out of our Downtown Seattle Office two days per week on Mondays and Thursdays. For this reason, candidates must be based in the Greater Seattle Area or willing to relocate.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Assist with computing and reviewing the worldwide tax provision for quarterly and annual reporting

  • Assist in managing tax audits and controversy

  • Support transfer pricing implementation and documentation

  • Act as a strategic business partner by assisting with implementation of tax planning opportunities, process improvements, and risk minimization processes

  • Monitor current and proposed US and foreign tax law changes to identify and assess impact on the organization

  • Support M&A activity, including tax due diligence and post-close integration

  • Assist with distribution calculations (E&P, etc.) and related partner reporting

  • Research and draft tax policy memos documenting tax issues and positions

  • Lead or support special tax projects, as needed

Your Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or a Master’s degree in Tax

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or corporate tax department

  • Deep technical knowledge of corporate federal and state income tax as well as accounting for income taxes under ASC 740

  • Experience with creating tax models and forecasts, including cash tax and scenario modeling

  • Exposure to U.S. international tax concepts

  • Ability to research tax issues and interpret guidance to provide strategic advice

  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in manipulating large data sets

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams

  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment

Your Bonus Skills:
  • Licensed CPA

  • Experience with transfer pricing concepts

  • Experience in M&A due diligence and / or post-close integration

  • Exposure to partnership tax concepts

  • Familiarity with E&P calculations

  • Experience with Corptax Provision
