Three Dog Brands,LLC started as the original bakery for dogs and a pioneer in the premium dog food and treat industry. Since 1989, they have been manufacturing and distributing wholesome drool-worthy dog treats to food retailers and online customers in the United States, Canada, and Asia. POSITION SUMMARY 

In the role of Operations Lead you will assume a crucial position overseeing and coordinating manufacturing activities with an unwavering commitment to safety, quality, and operations throughput. As a working leadership position, Operations Leads will operate on the manufacturing lines as part of their regular duties.

This position will operate during 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM.

ResponsibilitiesPRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Adhere to established safety protocols and guidelines while performing leadership operational duties.
  • Uphold a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with colleagues and visitors.
  • Ensure adherence to the overall safety, quality, and packaging requirements within all areas.
  • Contribute positively to the culture of continuous improvement and team involvement.
PRIMARY TASKS AND DUTIES
  • Oversee the safe operation and maintenance of production and packaging equipment, maintaining required output rates during the designated shift.
  • Uphold cleanliness standards, minimizing waste during equipment operation.
  • Complete daily checklists, batch sheets, inspection records, and other necessary paperwork as required.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of employee time, encompassing absences and punctuality throughout the shift.
  • Recognize and report maintenance issues, potential hazards, or areas for improvement to the relevant personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KEY COMPETENCIES
  • Safety Awareness: Champion a safety-first culture by enforcing and promoting strict safety protocols and guidelines.  Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, addressing and resolving potential hazards promptly.  Adhere to and promote a safety-first culture by following established safety protocols and guidelines.  
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the execution of operational tasks with meticulous attention to detail to maintain and improve product quality. Collaborate with the quality control team to implement quality improvement initiatives.  Report any deviations or defects promptly and work collaboratively with the quality control team.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Lead and oversee a team of packaging associates, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and packaging schedules. Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Throughput and Operational Excellence: Collaborate with the operations team to meet and exceed production targets.  Identify opportunities for process optimization to enhance efficiency and throughput.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at optimizing processes and reducing waste.
  • Team Development: Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills of team members.  Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the packaging team.
  • Communication and Coordination: Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination in the packaging process.  Facilitate regular team meetings to share insights, address challenges, and discuss improvement opportunities.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of packaging activities, including output, quality metrics, and safety incidents.  
  • Problem Solving: Lead root cause analysis efforts for packaging issues and implement corrective actions.  Encourage a proactive approach to problem-solving within the packaging team.
  • Material Handling: Ensure the proper handling and storage of raw materials and finished products.  Collaborate with the warehouse team to maintain organized storage areas.
  • Professionalism: Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in all aspects of your work, including communication, collaboration, and behavior.  Uphold a positive and collaborative team environment that reflects our commitment to professionalism.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
