Job description

Summary

Chenega & NASA are seeking a PSCC Dispatcher in Edwards AFB, CA to serve as a critical communications professional, managing 911 emergency calls, security systems, fire alarms, and CCTV monitoring in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for candidates with dispatch experience who can remain calm under pressure and support emergency response operations.


Responsibilities
  • Monitor and operate 911 emergency lines, administrative telephone systems, fire/security alarms, and CCTV systems.
  • Receive, track, document, and maintain accurate chronological records of incidents and emergency events.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response efforts, including reporting for duty during hurricanes, disasters, and declared emergencies.
  • Maintain flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends, holidays, and other assigned duties as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least one year of dispatch or related communications experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Strong ability to work in high-pressure environments while managing multiple priorities and sensitive information.
  • Successfully pass background and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous 911 dispatch experience.
  • Experience with records management, report preparation, and administrative support functions.
  • Familiarity with standard office procedures, business communications, and modern office equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing tasks, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
