Position Overview:
This high-impact technical role is critical to ensuring all automotive products surpass strict DMA standards and engineering specifications. Serving as the vital link between physical laboratory testing and cross-functional decision-making, you will oversee first-article inspections and manage non-conforming inventory. By driving rigorous root-cause investigations, you will
proactively eliminate product failures and ensure only the highest quality components reach our
customers.
Responsibilities:
? Lead first time inspections and utilize AQL process ensuring deliveries meet the desired standard
? Recommends quality control actions, repairs, and quarantine actions to Engineering management with all necessary impact information for decision-making
? Assists engineering management in preparing sampling plans for the finished product for the field inspector, entering data into the QMS system
? Conduct investigations of products based upon customer complaints or install issues driving to eliminate further problems from shipping to our customers.
? Manage quality technician who is responsible for making and recording basic measurements of first time and AQL inspection
? Responsible for operating, maintaining, and calibrating laboratory equipment, troubleshoot equipment issues and report malfunctions for repair or service and Ensure proper maintenance schedules are followed to guarantee reliable test result
? Working closely with engineering, Product management and customer service teams to address quality concerns and implement solutions.
? Collecting and analyzing quality data to identify trends, root causes of issues, and potential areas for improvement.
? Maintaining detailed quality records, generating reports on quality metrics, and documenting corrective actions taken.
? Working closely with engineering, Product management and customer service teams to address quality concerns and implement solutions.
? Supporting engineering as required by conducting additional testing and comparison to drawings as required.
? Responsible for working with the VP of R&D and Supply Chain to assure we have the right parts and tools to repair products.
? Maintain and monitor written inspection schedule agreed with supervisor
? Coordinates product CAR investigations with the Engineering Product Development Engineers to conclusion
? Facilitates review of nonconforming inventory and monitors product repair activities
? Works with quality and product engineers, product management, and vendors to
address new part variances to specifications and warranty issues
Requirements
Requirements:
? Two-year technical degree. Engineering degree, military training, or strong relatable work experience and knowledge of automobile repair are pluses.
? Understand and demonstrate the proper techniques for operating and maintaining measurement tools, hand tools, and testing equipment.
? Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Experience with handling data and input with ERP systems is a plus.
? Knowledge of quality systems (8D, CAR, AQL, Control plan, MSA, DOE, FMEA) is a plus
? Experience with automotive industry standards and regulations
? Good understanding of dimensional metrology and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
? Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools
? Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
? Strong written communication skills, including report preparation. To prepare all documentation this position requires, you need to be able to absorb, organize, and analyze large amounts of information and recognize key data points and what information means
? Ability to read and interpret data from drawings and specifications.
? Ability to lift parts to 50 pounds from the floor to a worktable for inspection.
? Requires ability to self-direct work
? Requires problem solving skills to assess parts and ascertain probable reasons for failures
? The primary work location is Greer, SC. This position will travel to other DMA locations occasionally.

? Incumbent work hours/schedule and/or shift are subject to change based on business needs and Management discretion
? Work location will be at the company's location in Greer, SC. This is not a remote work position.
