Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in various aspects of legal work by performing essential clerical and administrative tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures, as well as excellent communication skills to interact with clients and other legal professionals. If your experience is at a firm where there is frequent use of fill-in-the-blank forms, you are not likely the right fit for this job.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with preparation for cases.
  • Conduct thorough proofreading of legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage data entry tasks, maintaining up-to-date client files and case records.
  • Handle phone communications with clients using appropriate phone etiquette.
  • Organize and file legal documents in accordance with established protocols.
  • Provide general clerical support, including scheduling appointments, scheduling mediations, court hearings with court protocols, filing documents with court filing portals and managing calendars.

Requirements
