PGF Accounting Controller

Why We Have This Role

Qualtrics is on the lookout for a proactive, collaborative Accounting Controller overseeing our Press Ganey and Forsta (PGF) business lines to be based in our Provo office. Reporting to the Global Head of Accounting, the PGF Controller will lead and be responsible for the general accounting functions globally for Press Ganey Forsta as well as being a key leader in our global consolidation and reporting. This will include managing a timely month-end/quarterly/annual close process, variance analysis, financial reporting and leading the efforts for our consolidated annual audit. The right candidate will streamline financial and operational processes, including implementation of new systems & processes to accommodate growth, and have outstanding communication & interpersonal skills. Adaptability, maintaining standards, and a positive approach will be paramount.

Things You'll Do

  • Manage and lead the PGF Accounting Team with responsibility for recruitment, goal-setting, performance management, and identifying training and development needs.
  • Own monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close processes for the PGF business for over 25 legal entities with a key lead role in the global consolidation and reporting process.
  • Prepare entity level financial statements and play a critical lead role in consolidated financial statements.
  • Global Consolidation and Reporting:  Including areas such as reviews of financial roll ups into reporting currency, reviewing group financials including Cash Flows, Equity, P&L and B/S statements.  Assisting with reviews of other global entities and reviews of lender reporting and other financial packages that are prepared for internal and external stakeholders along with other ad hoc reporting requests as required.
  • Review journal entries, general ledger accounts and account reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Ensure accounting and financial controls are applied consistently throughout the business.
  • Partner with our international accounting teams on compliance with local government reporting requirements and work closely with tax professionals on transfer pricing, tax returns and other tax compliance items across all entities.
  • Work directly with auditors for group and statutory audits.
  • Work closely with FP&A on coordinating process improvements and investigating differences between actual and forecast.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Lead on the design and implementation of integration activities and consolidation of multiple accounting systems.
  • Ad hoc finance and accounting project work as required.

What We're Looking For On Your Resume

  • Master's degree in Accounting and a minimum of 8+ years of accounting experience OR Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a minimum of 10+ years of accounting experience
  • CPA certification required
  • Experience working in Big 4/consulting audit functions preferred
  • High comfort level with accounting and ERP systems (prefer Workday and NetSuite experience) and AI tools, VBA macros etc.
  • Strong accounting background with experience working in a tech company finance function
  • Experience leading a high performing team
  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent mentorship and leadership skills
  • Comfortable in an environment of rapid change and growth
  • High degree of organisation and efficiency with demonstrated attention to detail
  • One Team mindset, excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external business partners
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Able to work within a team environment effectively, as well as function independently
  • Great oral and written communication skills to interact with upper levels of management
