Third Shift: 10:00 PM- 6:30 AM

Full-Time: Monday - Friday + Overtime as Needed

OnSite: Charleston, South Carolina

JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Control Shift Manager will facilitate efficient production operations by planning, leading, and implementing quality assurance (QA) programs. 


Essential Duties

Run day-to-day operations

Maintain policy compliance and safety standards on the floor

Distribute all necessary tasks and duties during each shift in a fair and effective manner? 

Resolve immediate staff disputes and coach team performance

Adjust staffing on the fly for sudden worker callouts

Understands and supports all distinct quality control roles across the entire department

When needed, fill in for Quality Control Technician role

Conduct regular internal audits 

QC breakdown of nonconforming products and materials

Fix immediate technical issues

Ensure department goals are met 

Verify proper documentation on production paperwork

Provide instruction to production personnel on nonconforming product/material correction

Ensure facility wide adherence to the ISO 9001 standard 

Participate in weekly management meetings to discuss goals, progress, and any issues in need of resolution

Escalate severe incidents like injuries or theft to the Manager

Ensuring that everyone has their PPE on

Ensuring that LOTO and Do Not Operate Procedures are being followed

Ensuring that if anyone is using a MEWP, they are using it as intended and wearing the proper PPE

Ensure that anyone working at a height has on their fall protection

If there is an incident, then understand what is expected as far as an incident investigation and procedures for Productivity Edge and notifications

Ensure that forklift drivers are operating the lifts safety

General safety recognition

Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices; build productive internal/external working relationships 

Other duties as assigned, according to the changing needs of the business 


Required Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Thorough understanding of quality control standards and methodology. 

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

Strong supervisory and leadership skills. 

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 

Bachelor's degree in related industrial, scientific, or business field  

At least three years of related experience in manufacturing and production required. 

Master's degree in related industrial, scientific, or business field - preferred.


Work Environment + Physical Requirements

This job operates in a non-temperature-controlled industrial plant environment. These conditions can vary from hot and cold extremes. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving production machinery and vibration. Moderate noise can be expected from forklifts, machinery, trains, and trucks. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Regular work will be performed near other workers and production machinery.? Must be able to traverse the entire facility & lift up to 25 pounds at times.
