Responsibilities
  • Automation Strategy: Collaborate with technical teams to identify areas for automation and efficiency improvements. Develop and implement automation strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs and enhance overall quality.
  • Technical Design and Development: Design, develop, and implement automation solutions using various technologies and tools, such as scripting languages (e.g., Phyton, PowerShell), automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible, SaltStack, Terraform), monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana), log and data management (e.g., Splunk, Elastic Stack (ELK), and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
  • Collaboration and Integration: Work closely with technical teams to integrate automation solutions with existing systems, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to services.
  • Technical Guidance and Support: Provide technical guidance and support to technical teams on automation best practices, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor automation solutions, identify areas for improvement, and optimize automation workflows to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain accurate documentation of automation solutions, including design, development, and deployment processes. Share knowledge and best practices with technical teams through training, workshops, and documentation.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:   

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Automation Specialist with Systems Engineering and development experience to join our team. A minimum of 6 years' experience, plus a Bachelors degree is required or a Masters degree and 6 years experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving automation and efficiency across various technical teams, leveraging their technical expertise to streamline processes, improve productivity, and reduce costs. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for automation. In addition they should have extensive experience in the following:

  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Automation Frameworks: Experience with automation frameworks such as Ansible, SaltStack, or Puppet.
  • CI/CD Tools: Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Containerization: Knowledge: Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • IT Service Management: Familiarity with IT service management frameworks such as ITIL. Familiarity with incidents, problems, and changes management system such as ServiceNow.
  • Operating Systems: Experience with Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer, or Certified Ansible Engineer.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and technologies.
