Job Information
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering and coordinating outstanding patient care in the office setting using established nursing practices, procedures, and protocols. The RN collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of patient care and the achievement of optimal outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs all nursing duties in compliance with the Arizona State Board of Nursing -Nurse Practice Act.
  • Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, and cultural and care planning needs.
  • Reviews patient history and physical (H & P) with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe and records into the patient's chart.
  • Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers.
  • Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Delegates appropriately and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.
  • Provides appropriate pre- and post-operative teaching for patients and family members, as necessary.
  • Assists with triage and management of patient phone calls and procedure order entry.
  • Assists the physician in Pain Management Procedure room, wearing lead apron and during office procedures.
  • Maintains cooperative relationships with office staff, referring physician offices, residents and ancillary personnel and sales representatives.
  • Oversees the management of the physician's office in collaboration with the Practice Coordinator.
  • Assists with staff education and training. Acts as a resource to other office staff.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assists with measuring and monitoring quality assurance and performance improvement activities. Meets established timelines.
  • Actively participates in patient, employee, and physician satisfaction improvement initiatives.
  • Assures all facets of services are provided in a safe, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Follows company policies and procedures.
  • Displays openness to change and continuously participates in personal and professional development.
  • Generates new approaches and possibilities to improve quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Must possess strong analytical and independent decision-making skills in a wide variety of clinical situations.
  • Requires a high degree of accuracy in the performance of varied responsibilities.
  • Personal computer skills and electronic medical records (EMR) experience required.
  • Must demonstrate effective relationships with patients, family members, employees, physicians and members of the community.
  • Reports to work regularly without undue tardiness.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and always demonstrates the utmost in professionalism.
  • Dresses appropriately and professionally.
  • Works independently, without direct supervision.

Requirements
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing is required.
  • Current BCLS certification required, ACLS certification strongly preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in an out-patient / ASC setting or hospital environment.
  • Previous Medical/Surgical or Pain Management experience is strongly preferred.
  • EMR AthenaOne/ Athena strongly preferred.
