We’re looking for dynamic, people-focused individuals who are ready to grow with our team and make a real difference in patient care.

General Summary of Duties

This role supports the Surgery Coordinator by helping prepare for surgeries and keeping everything organized for the doctor, surgery center, and patient. You’ll handle paperwork, scheduling, follow-ups, and communication to make sure each surgery runs smoothly.
 

Main Duties
After a Surgery is Scheduled:


•    Responsible for preparing the patient’s surgical chart in surgery date order:  separate by designated eye and same day scans.
•    Print and prepare all paperwork for the doctor and surgery center.
•    Confirm lens choices, surgical formulas, and special tools with the surgeon.
•    Help with changes from the patient or surgeon.
•    Fax surgery clearance and follow up to make sure the surgery center has it.
•    Ensure co-managed forms and post-op appointments are done correctly.
•    Assign co-managing doctor in the system (for first eye only).
•    Check that billing sheets are filled out properly.
•    Notify insurance and billing departments with surgery details (2 weeks in advance).
•    Send prescriptions for surgery meds (2 weeks in advance).

Other Support Tasks:


•    Help confirm insurance and patient details during surgery consent.
•    Post surgeries in the system.
•    Schedule A-scans and post-op appointments.
•    Get lens selections from the surgeon.
•    Email lens and YAG procedure orders to the surgery center.

Education

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Course in medical terminology
  • Must be familiar with all surgical procedures/processes of the surgeon
  • ID & Diagnosis Codes

Experience

  • One-year experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
