Job description

St. Catherine Hospital – Dodge City, is a Joint Commission accredited 99-bed hospital that serves as a regional referral center for southwest Kansas. Acute care is at the heart of what we do. St. Catherine Hospital – Dodge City provides health services that include diagnostics and interventional cardiology and cardiac rehabilitation. We combine patient-centered care with modern technology and medical expertise to treat a wide range of medical conditions


As our Clinical Pharmacist, you will be responsible for accurately interpreting provider orders and prescriptions, then compounding and dispensing medications within strict regulatory and professional standards. You will ensure the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical care.
Every day, you will consult with patients and other healthcare professionals regarding medication use and potential drug interactions, providing essential drug information as needed. You will also provide oversight and supervision to pharmacy technicians and supporting staff, effectively directing workflow and ensuring the timely completion of duties, contributing to overall pharmacy efficiency.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional clinical expertise in your area of practice. Your ability to accurately dispense medications, provide thorough patient counseling, offer valuable drug information, and effectively supervise staff will be critical in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services.

  • Interprets prescription and medication orders completely and accurately and completes the necessary steps for clarification and validation for safe and effective patient care in compliance with state/federal rules and regulations.
  • Monitors drug utilization information and detects potential drug interactions, overlaps, over and under dosing and other unique situations.
  • Demonstrates professional judgment in advising and counseling patients and healthcare team.
  • Participates in Code Blue and other emergency situations to ensure adequate drug supply and appropriate drug use.
  • Oversight and supervision of pharmacy technicians and other supporting staff including directing work flow and assurance of completion of duties.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records and files, as prescribed by law, of all dispensing transactions of legend and controlled drugs, including wholesale transactions.

Training in Garden City prior to working in Dodge City
