Job Summary

The role of our Air Logistics Ramp Supervisor involves directly supervising a busy team of Airport Logistics ramp associates who move packages by hand and pushcart in and around our indoor/outdoor facility that is located on airport property. This is a roll up your sleeves job that supports a talented team of professionals who ensure packages arrive on time to destinations across the United States. This is a cross-dock operation; our role is to facilitate daily throughput of packages from aircraft to warehouse to trucks with no/minimal storage. Our indoor facility is an open-air environment and not temperature controlled, and you may work in or around aircraft.

Responsibilities
  • Monitors the quantity and quality of work performance of assigned Air logistics personnel.
  • Directs personnel within assigned functional area.
  • Participates in the discipline, coaching, counseling, hiring and termination of subordinates; training subordinates.
  • Proactively monitors the work of assigned ramp employees to ensure that customer satisfaction, safety, security, quality and employee relations meet or exceed standards.
  • Maintains and controls all required aspects of the operation in accordance with the corporate security program and TSA requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with Company rules and regulations and contractual agreements.
  • Reads, understands and clarifies the implementation of the site-specific security plan and ensure that all WFS staff are issued with a relevant company ID and that they are required to display this identity badge.
  • Administers practices in a fair and equitable manner, where all employees, customers, vendors and other third parties are treated with respect.
Minimum Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year of related experience and/or training.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Skills
  • Previous logistics, manufacturing, warehousing experience that relied heavily on managing a structured process with strict deadlines
  • Familiarity with personal computer software is helpful.
  • Independent judgment and decision-making skills are required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work non temperature controlled environment both indoors and outdoors in a variety of temperatures including but not limited to hot and cold weather (rain, wind, heat, cold, etc.)
  • Ability to stand for an entire shift and move long distances across our facilities
