Description

Overview of Role:ย 

The Network Administrator (Journeyman) installs, configures, andย maintainsย LAN, WAN, NIPRNet, and SIPRNet network systems across Department of Defense installations. Key responsibilities include administering core network services such as DHCP, DNS, NTP, TACACS+, and RADIUS; managing user and device accounts;ย maintainingย switch and router configurations; and applying software patches and firmware updates. The role also provides on-site technical support to users and government IT staff,ย assistsย with network documentation, supports training of government personnel, coordinates configuration changes with engineering staff, and offers on-call support asย requiredย to meet operational needs.ย 

Roles and Responsibilities:ย 

Installs, configures, andย maintainsย LAN, WAN, NIPRNet, and SIPRNet network systems across DoD installations. Administers core network services including DHCP, DNS, NTP, TACACS+, and RADIUS; manages user and device accounts; maintains switch and router configurations; applies software patches and firmware updates; provides on-site technical support to installation users and government IT staff; assists with baseline network documentation; supports training of government personnel on network systems and tools; coordinates with engineering staff on approved configuration changes; and provides on-call support as required per base operational needs.ย 

Educational and Certification Requirement:ย ย 

3 to 10 years' experience and a B.A./B.Sย 

CCNA or Microsoft certs; DHCP/DNS/NTP/TACACS+/RADIUS experience; DoD system administrationย 

Must have an Active Secret Clearanceย 
ย
