Reports to: Dean of Nursing

Salary: $37,500

Elms College (also known as College of Our Lady of the Elms), located in Chicopee, Massachusetts, is a private, Catholic, coeducational liberal arts institution seeking a part-time nursing faculty member. The faculty member is responsible for implementing the nursing curriculum, conducting program evaluation and improvement, supporting the philosophy of the School of Nursing (SON), and supporting the mission of the College. Nursing faculty share in the budget planning activities and assist in determining staffing needs.

JOB PURPOSE:
The FNP Track Coordinator and Assistant/Associate Professor in Nursing will provide overall administrative and academic responsibilities for the Family Nurse Practitioner Programs at Elms College School of Nursing. This 12-month PT position requires teaching, interacting with, and supporting current and prospective students, faculty, administrators, student workers, and other members of the healthcare community. Actively participates in securing clinical FNP placements and related coordination activities in collaboration with the AGACNP Track Coordinator, clinical partners, and Director of DNP Program. The FNP Coordinator will serve as a key representative of the Nursing Graduate Program for on and off-campus events and help maintain contact and communication with school and community partners. The FNP Coordinator will report to the Associate Dean of the Graduate Program within the School of Nursing.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The FNP Coordinator will help supervise faculty and students in the Elms College School of Nursing Graduate Programs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership and oversight for the planning, development, and implementation of the FNP program.
  • Helps to schedule annual academic offerings for the program tracks to ensure quality of curriculum delivery and compliance with College policies and requirements of external agencies.
  • Assures the integrity of the FNP curriculum through effective planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program outcomes during the DNP curriculum and Operations meetings.
  • Maintains standards and assumes responsibilities delegated for accreditation with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF).
  • Performs a role in curriculum development, review, and enhancement through collaboration/participation with the School of Nursing (SON) and College Graduate Curriculum Committees.
  • Develops and implements the current evaluation of the program track by ensuring that all evaluation and assessment data are collected as scheduled and analyzed, with data outcomes shared with appropriate SON committees and the faculty.
  • Assists the Associate Dean of the Graduate Program with accreditation reports and other reports. Generates data for program approval, evaluation, and accreditation.
  • Responsible for significant contribution and participation in recruiting students for the FNP track in collaboration with appropriate SON staff.
  • Coordinates/facilitates the mid-semester and end-of-semester evaluation process as currently defined with the clinical faculty, preceptor, and practicum site. Evaluations to include the coordinator and with the Director and AGACNP Track Coordinator; reviews, recommendations for progression or remediation, forwarded to the Advanced Practice Committee and/or DNP Operations and Curriculum Committee.
  • Provide academic advisement and conflict resolution for MSN/DNP FNP students, as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with SON staff in maintaining and managing record systems and computerized tracking of all FNP graduate nursing students.
  • Participates in faculty workload assignments with the Associate Dean of the Graduate Nursing Program.
  • Has teaching responsibilities for up to two courses per year.
  • Review annual FNP enrollments and enrollment projections as part of the annual personnel performance review process.
  • Serves as a designee representing the Associate Dean of Graduate Nursing as requested. Assumes responsibility for oversight of the Graduate Program in the Associate Deans absence.
  • Actively participates in scholarly activities and professional services, as required of the College faculty community members.
  • Completes other assignments at the request of the Associate Dean of the Graduate Nursing Program.

Education and Experience:

  • The candidate must hold an FNP certification and a doctoral degree in nursing (DNP, Ed.D, D.Ed.) and have experience with teaching and administration duties.
