Job Summary:

Zymo Research is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our Services team as a Research Technician.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Samples Receiving.
  • Preparing laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
  • Unpacking and routing specimens to their respective staging areas
  • Accurately identifying, labeling, and documenting incoming specimens.
  • Performing nucleic acid purifications and various laboratory testing.
  • Performing various quantitative assays and documenting results.
  • Organizing and transferring extracted materials for downstream processing.
  • Performing various NGS library preparations and documenting results.
  • Stocking of laboratory consumables and routine housekeeping functions.
  • Performing preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Conducting scientific experiments for performance troubleshooting, and protocol optimization.
  • Analyzing and interpreting data to obtain insights for project progression.
  • Providing recommendations to the project leader on the next steps of the assigned projects.
  • Collaborating with other project members to further multifaceted projects.

Education and Experience:

  • BS in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
  • Experience performing molecular and cell biology techniques, including nucleic acid purification, PCR, qPCR, and gel electrophoresis is a must. Additional experience with as Next Generation Sequencing techniques is strongly preferred.
  • A proven track record of executing, analyzing, documenting, and troubleshooting laboratory experiments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Attention to details and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Compensation:

The estimated base compensation range for this position is $24 per hour  $28 per hour at the time of posting. Actual compensation details will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
