The Service Sales Manager provides leadership, direction, and oversight to Field Service Techs to achieve department and company goals and objectives as directed by the Director and Vice President. This role combines technical service expertise with a consultative sales approach. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC equipment while identifying opportunities to recommend and sell new systems or upgrades to customers.

Position responsibilities may include:

• Reviews and evaluates daily functions of Technical Services department to achieve productivity and effective strategies as outlined by department senior management

• Evaluates Department Processes and Procedures and recommends suggested changes to department senior management

• Provides oversight and evaluation of resumes for new or replacement Technical Service positions as needed

• Evaluate customer needs and recommend system upgrades or new equipment based on technical assessments and customer preferences.

• Present financing options, warranties, and maintenance plans to customers.

• Provide post-sales customer support.

• Manage sales channels, establish and maintain key relationships with customers, and meet sales targets.

• Travel to current and prospective client locations within territory (including cold-calls).

• Build strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.

• Establishes operational objectives and work plans and delegates assignments

• Represent department in weekly company meetings (Transition Schedule, etc.) as needed.

• Provides direction and leadership of transition schedules, ECNs, ERs, etc.to determine impact and implications for all existing and future production and technical literature.

• Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

Nature & Scope:

• Ensures work is aligned with the Director’s expectations, goals, and vision 

• Accountable for implementation of policies, processes, and procedures for short-term results

• Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies, procedures, and business plan; receives guidance from Senior Director/Vice President

• Works on difficult to moderately complex issues and projects 

• Provides guidance and training to subordinates

• Has authority to hire, recommend pay, establish performance, and recommend for termination

• Level of signing authority established by company policy/guidelines

Knowledge & Skills:

• Highly effective communication & collaboration with team members and customers – ability to proficiently communicate ideas to instruct, inform, persuade, or motivate co-workers

• Digital skills: Technology, Media & the Internet - skills in word processing, data management and presentations (MS Office 365 proficiency – All Applications)

• Critical Thinking & Problem Solving - inductive and deductive reasoning, analysis, and interpretation to generate possible solutions and responses to problems

• Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively collaborate with engineer, quality, manufacturing, marketing, sales, or other departments to drive quality improvements or resolve field issues. Demonstrated ability to provide meaningful and accurate reporting in support of quality improvement initiatives or project/rework progress

• Demonstrated ability to acquire data including product shipments, part sales and warranty data in support of campaigns, quality initiatives, etc

• Demonstrates advanced level technical writing and communications skills

• Demonstrates effective presentation and customer speaking skills in front of large audiences

• Superior knowledge of HVAC products and controls 

• Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethic, and integrity on the job.

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years HVAC experience , manufacturing or service

• 5-10 years in a leadership position 

Education/Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred

• HVAC degree or certification

Reports To: DIRECTOR, TECHNICAL SERVICE

Salary Range: $110,240.00 to $138,065.00, Plus eligible to participate in the Service Manager Commission Plan and the service manager annual bonus plan
