Job description

Responsible for all aspects of delivering operating income and EBITDA target percentages in line with overall established corporate/enterprise objectives for approximately 500-700 people with annual sales in the $250MM-$300MM range. This includes New Product Development, Talent Management, Capital Planning, Facility Maintenance and Expansion, Capacity Planning, and Distribution Network support.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provides leadership for the timely development of the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan. On an on-going basis monitors the performance of the SBUs against plans, adjusts as required and communicates status to Corporate Management. Attains adequate profit margins and sales volumes as required to meet or exceed annual operating plans.
2. Supervises all activities of the SBUs and the building and maintenance of an aggressive, well-trained, equitably compensated, and well-integrated organization.
3. Supervises and guides personnel in the development of plans for timely delivery, solicitation of orders, distribution of company products, and building goodwill to all present and prospective customers.
4. Ensures compliance with the Company's Standard Policies and Procedures. Approves expenses for all direct reports, reviews related monthly reports, and institutes appropriate action as required.
5. Responsible for oversight of product roadmaps, New Product Development and the analysis of markets for company products. Supervises data obtained for sales plans, selling effort, markets, products, and prices of competitors. Anticipates foreseeable marketing conditions and participate in the formation of company plans for future expansion and entrenchment programs. Focus on aggressive growth (domestic and international) through product and channel strategies, including pursing new markets that leverage the company's core capabilities.
6. Participates in the review and approval of all requests for research and development projects concerning new products and new models of old products. Reviews and approves updates and modifications to existing product portfolio to drive profitability and growth.
7. Responsible for insuring annual employee objectives align with the Annual Operation Plan (AOP) key initiatives. Maintains personnel development programs, good morale and develops loyalty in the personnel of the organization. Recruit, retain and develop outstanding people who will flourish in a team-based environment.
8. Responsible for administration of the Performance Planning and Management System and career development planning for direct reports and their organizations. Participate in and oversee the Talent Review process to ensure proper management action is taken that moves the organization forward from a team member perspective.
9. Responsible for driving continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost Reduction, Primary Working Capital Management, Warranty Improvement, and Production Planning.
10. Supervises and guides SBUs through compliance, Quality Systems and maintenance of ISO standards consistent with all certification and re-certification requirements; Provide leadership for planning, implementation and measurement of continuous quality improvements in all areas with a particular emphasis on building quality into both product and all business processes.
11. Responsible for development and execution of capital requirements related to facility and production operations. Ensure existing equipment is maintained to maximize the asset utilization and long-term return on investment.
12. Support the enterprise objectives around Mergers and Acquisitions, where possible, by (i) introducing prospective targets to the corporate team, (ii) relationship development, (iii) due diligence, and (iv) post-acquisition integration.
13. Act as a goodwill ambassador for corporate with SBUs local management team/employees, including (i) delivering corporate messaging, (ii) identifying opportunities for corporate to engage with local team at events/activities, and (iii) providing feedback to corporate from local team, as needed.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing or related field required. BSEE highly desirable
  • MBA required; direct experience managing a large-scale manufacturing plant may be considered in lieu of MBA
  • Requires 12-15 plus years of experience in the areas of Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Operations or Finance experience; minimum of 10 years in manufacturing required
  • At least 5 years full P&L General Management responsibility for >$200 million in sales required
  • Successful track record with multi-plant responsibility and acquisition experience preferred
  • Experience in managing multiple levels of customer relationships in a high SKU distribution network/ environment highly desired
  • Lean enterprise experience a plus
  • Must possess strong Executive Presence with ability to effectively convey complex messages in a public speaking/forum
  • Ability to demonstrate sound understanding and interpretation of financial information and associated analysis required
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of and coach SBU General Managers to achieve required growth plans
  • Experience in manufacturing planning, sales cyclicality and associated analysis required
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and management growth skills required; ability to take calculated risks and quickly adjust based on changing business environment
  • Strong influencing capabilities with demonstrated ability to develop a vision, motivate team and execute
  • Proven capability for staff development/coaching to operate with the highest integrity; Personable/ approachable/ comfortable with all levels of employees
  • Competent in Microsoft Office tools suite

Target Salary Range:
$250,000 - $300,000, position is eligible for bonus and equity
