1. GENERAL POSITION INFORMATION

Department/Division: Multiple departments/College of Chiropractic

Supervisor: Dean,DC Program

2. POSITION SUMMARY

Thispositioncoversadjunctinstructionfor the DC Program.Coursesmay include those in the Chiropractic Technique, Clinical Education, or Basic Sciences departments.Possible coursesavailableincludecoursein radiographic positioning,physiologictherapeutics, and foundational sciences.

3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepares lessons and teaches procedures based on existing syllabus.50%

- Demonstrates and monitorsstudentpractice ofproperskills technique and patient interactions(as applicable). 25%

- Compiles, administers, andgradesexaminations.10%

- Maintains a safe environment in the classroom.5%

- Createssyllabiand course outline.5%

- Contributes to evaluations of students' non-cognitive behavior.2.5%

- Maintainsexpertiseinareaof instruction.2.5%

5. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Required

Education & Training

  • Prior teaching experience in a university or professional education program

Certifications & Licenses

  • Graduate of a CCE-accredited Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) program.Not required for all courses.
  • Maintain an active license to practice as a chiropractic physician in the state of Oregon (oracquiresuch licensure shortly afterhire).Required for anyone teachingtechniquecourses.

Experience

  • Teaching experience

Related Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to access current electronic information.

Other Qualifications

  • Have sufficient stamina to provide lecture and/or lab instruction with brief breaks over a 1 to 4-hour period.
  • Have sufficient mobility to move among students engaged invarious typesof lab activities.
  • Have sufficient visual acuity to accuratelyidentifypertinent structures and/or details as instructional activities demand.
  • Have sufficient manual dexterity tooperatepertinent tools and/or equipment as instructional activities demand.
