As a key player, you will provide high-quality, immediate medical care to patients experiencing acute injuries and illnesses, directly impacting their recovery and well-being. Your expertise in trauma care and collaboration with our seasoned trauma team will ensure the delivery of critical services in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

You will operate onsite in our Surgical Center, which is known for its collaborative approach to emergency care. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring quick thinking and adaptability to effectively respond to trauma alerts and emergency situations. Our team consists of highly skilled healthcare professionals who prioritize efficiency, compassion, and effective communication. We work in a structured shift system, with your primary hours being Monday to Friday, starting at 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond swiftly to trauma alerts, promptly assessing patients' conditions to determine the appropriate level of urgency and necessary interventions.
  • Stabilize patients and provide immediate care to prevent further deterioration, utilizing trauma protocols and guidelines.
  • Assist in resuscitation efforts and administer life-saving interventions as needed during critical incidents.
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and interpret diagnostic results to develop effective treatment plans.
  • Collaborate closely with the trauma team and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive and comprehensive care for trauma patients.
  • Educate patients and their families on trauma care procedures and recovery processes, ensuring they are informed and involved in care decisions.
  • Monitor patients’ pain levels and implement appropriate management strategies to enhance comfort during their stay.
  • Assist with invasive procedures and perform wound management under the supervision of supervising physicians.
  • Follow strict infection control and safety protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and healthcare staff.
  • Document patient assessments, treatments, and care plans accurately in our electronic health record system.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The role primarily involves caring for critically injured patients who arrive through our emergency department. You will work with diverse age groups, ranging from pediatric to geriatric patients, experiencing various trauma scenarios. Your ability to communicate effectively and compassionately is crucial, as many patients and their families may be facing high levels of stress and anxiety during emergency situations.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field, complemented by the completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant in Texas.
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Knowledge of trauma assessment, stabilization protocols, and guidelines.
  • Strong clinical skills in trauma evaluation and management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Capacity to work effectively in a high-pressure environment while prioritizing patient care.
  • Proficiency in documenting patient care and treatment plans using electronic health record systems.
Preferred Experience
  • At least two years of experience in emergency medicine or trauma care.
  • Familiarity with trauma-specific medications, procedures, and interventions.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 140,000 to 180,000, commensurate with experience. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
