Deseret Book Company is looking for a new store manager to join their team. As a manager, you will be the leader in representing the Deseret Book brand voice to your team and our customers. You will be responsible for the sales and operations of your store including: training, customer service, marketing, promotions and merchandising. If you are qualified and are looking for values-based work in an exciting and evolving organization, we are looking for you! Deseret Book is a media and lifestyle company that caters to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Description

  • Create and maintain a store environment that provides customers with world-class customer service experience
  • Ensure excellent delivery of merchandise and services
  • Reach sales goals of the product through executing corporate sales promotions, advertising, and display plans
  • Achieve financial objectives (revenue and expenses) within annual budgets
  • Lead out on key human resource needs (recruiting, training, scheduling, performance management, etc.) to develop a well-trained and knowledgeable team who live the brand voice
  • Meet and maintain the store excellence checklist on a weekly basis with your team
  • Help grow local customer base through outreach marketing strategies

Required Skills

  • Bachelors degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2 or more years' retail supervisory experience with excellent self-management skills
  • Proven sales, merchandising and customer service skills
  • Excellent self-management skills and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of LDS-oriented books and merchandise preferred
  • Available to work a regular schedule that includes a variety of shifts including evenings and Saturdays and is frequently more than 40 hours/week
  • Ability to stand for long periods and regularly lift 20 lbs.
