Job description

The Pro Bono Coordinator works alongside the Firm’s Head Pro Bono Counsel and Senior Pro Bono Manager to coordinate administrative matters relating to the Firm’s pro bono practice.


  • Provides operational, administrative and logistical support for the Firm’s pro bono practice;
  • Supports the Head Pro Bono Counsel and Senior Pro Bono Manager in efforts to highlight and enhance pro bono opportunities at the Firm;
  • Coordinates and provides administrative support to special and ongoing pro bono initiatives and projects;
  • Provides administrative support to the Firm’s pro bono immigration docket;
  • Assists with the development of new pro bono programming and initiatives;
  • Assists with maintaining the Firm’s pro bono database and tracking all pro bono matters to ensure information is kept up-to-date;
  • Oversees the posting and distribution of pro bono opportunities;
  • Coordinates case opening and closing procedures as well as staff departure/transition procedures;
  • Maintains records/data of program metrics throughout the year;
  • Supports the Head Pro Bono Counsel and Senior Pro Bono Manager with the completion of pro bono reporting processes, surveys, submissions and other similar;
  • Provides administrative support to the Firm’s Children’s Hospital Program Director;
  • Assists with the coordination of the Firm’s Summer Associate Pro Bono Program;
  • Monitors publications and alerts related to the Firm’s pro bono work;
  • Keeps abreast of pro bono best practices through involvement with external pro bono professional organizations and non-profit partners; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • 1+ years of relevant work experience; law firm and/or legal services organization experience strongly preferred;
  • Fluency in Spanish language strongly preferred;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook;
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Must have the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects and work well under pressure to complete assignments in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Must be self-motivated and able to proactively identify team needs;
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise a high standard of judgment and discretion;
  • Must be able to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment;
  • Interest in and commitment to public interest and immigration law;
  • Experience in trauma-informed, client-centered work preferred; and
  • Availability to work overtime as needed.

This position is located in our New York office. The hours for this position are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000 plus overtime. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
