FOX RIVER GROVE SCHOOL DISTRICT 3 JOB DESCRIPTION - BUS DRIVER
Qualifications: 21 years old; possess a valid driver's license, bus permit, and all other requirements of the State of Illinois
Reports to: Transportation Director
Employment Timesheet
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Operate bus in accordance with State of Illinois vehicle code laws, Fox River Grove District Bus Driver's Handbook, instruction issued by the State Board of Education, and Secretary of State's office.
2. Perform a pre-trip inspection on first trip of each bus driven by driver daily. Check all fluid levels, check bus for condition and operation of safety equipment, safety sticker, and confirm that bus is in safe operating condition before each trip.
3. Report passenger lists and changes as needed.
4. Clean interior of bus daily.
5. Service the route outlined by the Transportation Director.
6. Maintain a level of discipline on the bus, which permits full attention to be given to the safe operation of the bus.
7. The school bus driver has the responsibility for supervising and controlling students on the route. If the driver is unable to control students through his/her efforts, then a School Bus Incident Report is to be filled out by the driver. On the same day, if possible, or as soon as practical, this report is to be taken by the bus driver to the building administrator for disciplinary action. The building principal will take appropriate disciplinary action.
8. Conduct one emergency instruction session with passengers each semester.
9. Completes all reports in appropriate time requested (absence, trip time log, etc.).
10. Performs other such tasks as may from time to time be assigned by the Transportation Director.
Salary: $25.00 per hour or commensurate with experience.
Benefits: 100% paid for individual health
