Job description

Join us to oversee our newly opening store in New York. Opening in Summer 2026 and situated in Meatpacking District, this store enables customers to truly experience Bang & Olufsen product portfolio in an exciting environment. We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to enhance and uplift the commercial performance and customer experience.
Key responsibilities
As our new Store Manager, you will be end-to-end responsible for the store and ensuring our company strategy (Luxury, Timeless, Technology) are being executed. Situated in the Meatpacking District, the store services local New York customers as well as international tourists.
Additionally, your role will cover all operations, P&L responsibility and team management for the store, ensuring we have an experienced sales team representing Bang & Olufsen.
More specifically, you will:
  • Be fully accountable (end-to-end) for the performance, store operations, people management, delivering sales and profit targets of the store.
  • Guide the team to create a memorable customer experience at every touchpoint and develop rapport with priority customers.
  • Perform day-to-day training with the sales team, ensuring they all deliver up to Bang & Olufsen high standards together with the Global Training Team and online trainings. It is key to build a motivated sales team that are focused on delivering the targets of the store.
  • Be the direct line manager of store sales team (End-to-end), defining and following up on sales goals, weekly planning and vacation calendar.
  • Uplift the clienteling capabilities of the store team, encouraging and supporting networking activity to drive brand awareness and local client engagement.
  • Initiate and oversee local brand awareness efforts, events, campaigns, partnerships, and activations alongside the local Head of CoCo, Marketing Manager, and Assistant Store Manager. This includes building and executing an annual marketing plan for the store
  • Act as an ambassador to the brand and represent the brand in and outside the store during key CRM events.
  • Have daily focus on store operations, with the Global Retail Team, to secure smooth ways of working and ensuring the store are always spotless.
  • Ensure high-quality in-store visual merchandising, following headquarter guidelines.
  • Ensure coordination with internal and external stakeholders (Installation team, Bang & Olufsen HQ, service providers, after sale service, etc.)
  • Ensure seamless execution of all financial and administrative processes (sales and cost reporting, inventories, after sales, etc.)
  • You must be able to work within the stores scheduled opening hours, including activations that can be outside normal opening hours and at times off site as well.

What you bring
At minimum, you have five years' experience in a store leadership position, such as Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, in luxury, lifestyle, or upscale retail and have a history of meeting performance goals. Furthermore, you:
  • Are gregarious, able to relate to and connect with people from all backgrounds.
  • Are committed to inspiring others to high standards, mentoring teams to provide great customer service.
  • Have experience developing less-experienced managers and sales teams.
  • Are highly motivated, which pushes you to deliver results and cope well with setbacks.
  • Understand the value of brand representation and can model the standards you expect from your team.
  • Possess great administrative skills, enabling you to structure and plan work schedules, leaving no shifts unmanned.
  • Are interested in high tech (hardware and software), design and music.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 including Sales CRM.
  • Fluent verbal and written communication in English
  • You must be able to work within the stores scheduled opening hours, including activations that can be outside normal opening hours and at times off site as well

As our new Store Manager, you will be joining our retail team who are based on site at the Meatpacking District store and consist of a broad array of commercial profiles, account managers and marketing. You will also interact with Head Office teams in Global Retail, Training, VM, Store Design, Marketing and Finance.
