Specialty Distribution Manager

Location: Remote position but candidates will ideally live in Boston or in the US on EST time zone.

Position Summary: This is a full-time position within our Market Access department working 9am - 5pm.

Salary: $120,000 - $130,000

In this role, you'll lead Cycle's specialty distribution network by managing relationships with specialty distributors and third-party logistics partners. You'll design and execute distribution strategies that ensure our products reach our patients efficiently and compliantly. Your responsibilities will include contract management, performance optimization, and driving cross-functional projects to strengthen our expanding specialty distribution network.

We're looking for a candidate with proven experience in pharmaceutical distribution operations, contract and project management capabilities and a strong understanding of the specialty distribution landscape. What you will be doing:

ย Specialty Distribution Management

  • Build and strengthen relationships with specialty distributors, wholesalers, GPOs, and logistics partners.
  • Oversee distributor onboarding, readiness, and execution for new product launches and implementations.
  • Drive distributor performance, onboarding, and operational excellence through KPI's.
  • Monitor and analyze distributor and wholesaler performance, including shipments, inventory levels, and service levels.
  • Develop and maintain distributor scorecards and KPIs to assess network effectiveness.
  • Resolve operational issues and coordinate escalations as needed.

ย 3PL Oversight & Distribution Operations

  • Manage the day-to-day relationship between Cycle and its 3PL provider, in partnership with Supply Chain.
  • Oversee outbound distribution from the 3PL to specialty pharmacies, distributors, and wholesalers.
  • Monitor 3PL performance, including order accuracy, fill rates, shipping timelines, and service levels.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Commercial teams to support product launches and ongoing distribution needs.

ย Contract Management & Administration

  • Manage the full lifecycle of specialty distributor contracts and ensure compliance with SLAs and regulations.
  • Develop and lead negotiation strategies and review contract terms.
  • Maintain contract documentation, templates, and SOPs; track milestones and collaborate with Finance on billing accuracy and invoice audits.

ย Chargebacks & Financial Operations

  • Monitor and validate chargeback activity across distributors and wholesalers to ensure pricing accuracy and contract compliance.
  • Partner with Finance and Commercial Operations to investigate and resolve chargeback discrepancies.
  • Analyze chargeback trends and identify risks, leakage, or process improvement opportunities.
  • Support reconciliation processes and ensure timely resolution of disputes.

ย Project Management

  • Drive cross-functional initiatives to onboard products and enhance distribution processes with specialty distributors and third-party logistics partners.
  • Lead efficiency and improvement projects, ensuring alignment across Market Access, PMO, Product, Supply Chain, Finance, and Legal.

The following skills and experience will be important in helping to set you up to succeedย in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree required in either Business, Supply Chain, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably in distribution, logistics, procurement, or contract management.
  • Experience managing specialty distributor relationships and partnerships.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Contract negotiation and lifecycle management experience.
  • Understanding of specialty distribution operations, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical distribution flows, including shipments and inventory management.
  • Experience with chargeback processes and financial reconciliation.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience working with specialty pharmaceuticals or rare disease products.
  • Knowledge of 3PL operations, DSCSA, and pharmaceutical supply chain regulations.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, distribution platforms, or chargeback systems.
  • Experience supporting product launches within specialty distribution networks.
