This is a cross-functional role designed to support the overall success of warehouse operations. Responsibilities will include shipping, receiving, and dock-related activities, with primary emphasis on shipping functions.
As a Distribution Associate, you will...
Be responsible for working in team environment to ensure Customer Satisfaction while meeting the Business Objectives (Metal velocity). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Being an integral part of the site safety culture. Responsible for maintaining certain areas of the plant from a safety and housekeeping perspective. Actively participate in site safety programs, such as attending and participating in safety meetings and making safety suggestions.
  • Learn and Utilize SAP tools to be able to manage Truck and Air Freight.
  • Collaborate daily with operations to ensure the Supply Plan is communicated efficiently.
  • Collaborate with Customer Care Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Embrace Safety as a core value for all, encouraging teammates to excel in Operational Discipline and Excellence.
  • Maximize operational efficiency, quality and reliability through use of Lean Tools.
  • Required to learn and be proficient in all standard operating procedures that apply to the position.
  • Handle material deliveries and movements between warehouse and operations.
  • Handle the loading and unloading of drums, totes, and sacks by truckload quantities. Has a working knowledge of BOL and shipping paperwork to correctly and safely ship material from the warehouse to the customer.
  • DOT and HazMat trained for ground and air shipments. Be proficient in hazard communication and DOT/OSHA requirements for chemical transportation, storage, and handling.
  • Use the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to perform all necessary job functions within the process. This includes being in the respirator program.
  • Adhere to established safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Handle preparation of material for shipments: stretch wrapping, banding, cap strap and wrapping, and labeling.
  • Participate in incident investigations.
  • Accomplish day-to-day and recurring EHS activities.
  • Proactive hazard recognition and recognition of EHS issues.
  • Waste management activities.
  • Proficient in general material handling requirements for storage and movement.

Qualifications:
  • Have a High School Diploma, required
  • 2 to 5 years in Supply Chain, Logistics or Distribution, required
