A day in the life of a Director Distribution Technology at VF looks a little like this.

We are seeking a results-oriented Director of Distribution Technology, to lead the delivery and execution of technology solutions that support global distribution and fulfillment operations, with a focus on WMS and related platforms.

This role drives the design, implementation, and optimization of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) across our global network to improve operational efficiency, scalability, and omnichannel fulfillment performance.

Reporting to the Vice President of Infrastructure and Distribution, this role partners with Supply Chain, Operations, Digital, and Enterprise Technology leaders to enhance distribution capabilities, drive automation, and optimize end-to-end fulfillment performance.

The role also leads a team of managers and technology professionals, providing direction and coaching while advancing WMS capabilities that improve inventory accuracy, throughput, and operational performance.

Global Strategy & Transformation

  • Contribute to and execute the Distribution Technology roadmap aligned with business and supply chain priorities.
  • Drive modernization of distribution systems, including cloud adoption, platform integration, and digital innovation, to solve complex operational and technical challenges.
  • Identify and implement emerging technologies (automation, robotics, AI/ML, IoT) to enhance network efficiency, scalability, and competitive advantage, requiring deep specialized knowledge and creative problem solving.
  • Provide strategic direction and influence for Distribution Technology, influencing investment prioritization to support enterprise growth and operational excellence.

Technology Leadership & Delivery

  • Oversee and ensure successful delivery of core platform enhancements and implementations
    • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
    • Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
    • Labor Management and automation systems
    • Customs Compliance Systems
  • Support integration efforts across ERP, Order Management, Planning, and Digital Commerce platforms to help improve operational efficiency and enable effective business processes.
  • Lead delivery of large-scale, complex global programs (e.g., WMS transformations, new DC launches, automation initiatives), demonstrating strong accountability for results, timelines, and financial targets.

Global Operations Enablement

  • Enable scalable and consistent solutions across North America, EMEA, and APAC distribution networks, supporting global business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Balance global standardization with regional requirements and regulatory compliance, solving complex cross-border operational challenges.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and resiliency of mission-critical systems supporting 24/7 operations, demonstrating strong accountability for uptime and service levels.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global organization of technology professionals
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning to drive exceptional results and solve evolving business challenges.
  • Partner cross-functionally to drive alignment, adoption, and change management across the enterprise, ensuring complex initiatives are executed successfully.

Vendor & Financial Management

  • Manage strategic partnerships with technology vendors, integrators, and service providers to maximize value and innovation.
  • Support delivery of outcomes aligned to business priorities
  • Support contract negotiations and vendor performance management to achieve substantial results and mitigate risks.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including significant exposure to global supply chain or retail environments
  • Proven track record leading large-scale distribution technology transformations in multi-region organizations, solving difficult technical and operational challenges.
  • Deep expertise in WMS, TMS, and distribution/fulfillment systems within an omnichannel retail environment
  • Experience leading global teams and managing stakeholder relationships, demonstrating high accountability and strong influence in complex environments.
  • Can travel up to 50% to global distribution sites

Hiring Range:

$176,000.00 USD - $220,000.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, orcommissionpotential.
