Truck Sales Representative (Inside)

Description
The Inside Truck Sales Representative is an entry-level business development role within the Truck Sales department. This position is primarily responsible for generating sales leads, managing lead distribution, and tracking sales activity and conversion. Through hands-on involvement in the sales process, this role is designed to help develop the knowledge, skills, and experience needed for future growth into a commercial truck sales position.
In support of generating new sales opportunities, the Inside Truck Sales Representative also assists with inventory management, digital truck listings, inside sales activity, truck content creation, market research, vehicle staging, pricing support, and business reporting. By working closely with the truck sales team and supporting multiple areas of the department, this position provides valuable exposure to commercial truck sales operations, customer lead flow, inventory strategy, market trends, and sales process execution.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, eager to learn, comfortable using technology and data, and interested in building a long-term career in commercial truck sales.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management and Listing Support
  • Maintain accurate truck specifications, descriptions, and inventory details in CDK and related systems.
  • Decode VINs and gather accurate spec sheets and supporting vehicle information.
  • Post truck inventory to company and third-party platforms, including the company website, Truck Paper, Commercial Truck Trader, Google, and other listing sources.
  • Monitor inventory listings and keep information current as trucks become retail ready.
  • Work with sales and inventory teams to ensure truck descriptions, pricing, photos, and specifications are complete, accurate, and professionally presented.

Truck and Finance Content Support
  • Assist with the creation of sales and finance-related marketing materials.
  • Create flyers for aged inventory, older inventory units, promotional opportunities, and sales campaigns.
  • Provide presentation support for sales meetings, customer opportunities, inventory reviews, and business development initiatives.
  • Help ensure sales materials are accurate, professional, and aligned with company branding.

Truck Staging and Inventory Presentation
  • Coordinate truck photos, videos, and related digital content to support sales and marketing efforts.
  • Assist with staging trucks for photography, video, customer viewing, and online listings.
  • Support truck inventory distribution by ensuring vehicle content is shared across appropriate sales, marketing, and listing channels.
  • Help present inventory in a way that improves customer engagement and supports faster retail activity.

Inside Sales
  • Support the administration, assignment, and distribution of sales leads.
  • Assist with lead forms, inbound calls, International leads, social media direct messages, and other incoming customer inquiries.
  • Track leads through the sales process to support visibility from initial inquiry to conversion.
  • Help ensure timely follow-up, accurate documentation, and proper routing of leads to the appropriate sales team member.
  • Maintain organized records of lead activity and support continuous improvement in lead handling.

Prospecting and Sales Development Support
  • Build and maintain prospecting lists to support sales outreach and business development efforts.
  • Assist with identifying potential customers, market opportunities, and target accounts.
  • Support sales team members with research and preparation for prospecting activity.
  • Learn and develop foundational sales habits, customer communication skills, and commercial truck industry knowledge.

Market Intelligence and Research
  • Assist with market share reporting and competitive research.
  • Conduct pricing research on comparable trucks, market conditions, and competitive listings.
  • Monitor market trends that may affect truck sales, customer demand, inventory strategy, or pricing decisions.
  • Provide research and insights to support sales leadership and inventory planning.

Digital and Social Media Support
  • Assist with social media truck posts and digital inventory promotion.

State of Business Reporting
  • Support regular business reporting related to truck sales performance and inventory health.
