Would you like to join a company recognized for excellence in safety, customer service, and outstanding performance? Air Products, a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, is seeking an experienced Fleet Vehicle Mechanic & Trailer Distribution Operator at its LaPorte, TX facility!
At this facility we produce and distribute liquid and gaseous hydrogen and atmospheric gases to customers throughout North America! The position reports to the La Porte Distribution Terminal Manager and is responsible for the maintenance of company owned tractors and trailers as well as equipment movement.
We are seeking an upbeat, highly motivated, and well organized, self-starter with a strong dedication to safety. We are looking for a teammate with the ability to work well with fellow mechanics, drivers, and operations personnel.
This role is eligible for our Veteran Apprenticeship Program

HOURS EXPECTATIONS - SWING SHIFT/SECOND SHIFT
Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs as necessary on over-the-road Class A tractors, tanker trailers, and tube trailers
  • Document/record work performed electronically on computer-based maintenance system
  • Perform electrical/electronic repairs on tractors and trailers
  • Ensure fleet is in compliance with DOT regulations
  • Run parts room within facility's budget
  • Move equipment as necessary
  • Document/record Hazmat and OSHA requirements

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma/equivalent
  • 3-5 years strong vehicle maintenance and repair experience
  • Strong mechanical background, with some computer experience/skills.
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills on 12 volt DC circuits
  • Diesel engine troubleshooting and repair experience
  • Welding knowledge and experience preferred
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently
  • Must be able to work overtime depending on business needs
  • Validated work history
  • Valid Class A CDL required
  • HAZMAT and Tanker Endorsement
