Job description

Job Summary

Drive above market profitable growth by identifying, qualifying, creating, and successfully executing and directing comprehensive sales and marketing plans for new and existing opportunities in renewables and other identified high growth markets or market segments.

Responsible for the implementation of major sales/promotional programs. Provides assistance with sales, technical, and/or application training as it applies to specific major customers or industries. This individual will also interface regularly with HFS Engineering & Marketing teams to aggressively grow the Howmet Technology Advantage within the fastener product space and commercialize new fastener technologies. 

  • Serve as the customer's primary contact for pricing, order status, and delivery issues — partnering with procurement on sourcing and supply continuity 

  • Own the day-to-day relationship and order management for a portfolio of major accounts

  • Works across sales and marketing functional areas to identify the value proposition, addressable market size, competitive technologies, channels of sale, and the resources required to develop and execute marketing plan.  Continually evaluate and update methods of establishing contact with customers (tradeshows, websites, industry-based research, publications)

  • Responsible for the coverage and penetration of large national accounts and the implementation of major sales/promotional programs.

  • Provides assistance with sales, technical, and/or application training as it applies to specific customers or industries.

  • Qualify leads, establish contact, identify, analyze, and design appropriate offers of product to new and existing customers, applications, and market segments.

  • Participates with senior Sales & Marketing leaders with the development of major industry-specific sales, marketing and business plans, forecasts and promotional programs.

  • Provides support for field training activities for other Account Managers, distributors and related personnel when a high level of expertise is required.

  • Work with pricing function to develop appropriate pricing strategy and continually assess the competitive pricing environment and value opportunities for margin enhancement

  • Work with Product Management function and engineering managers to identify and develop and successfully launch new products to address applications specific to renewable and other new markets. 

  • Lead customer trials of new products and ensure commercial and technical evaluations are completed

  • Measure leads, quotes, win rate, analyses reasons for wins, losses and delays, incorporates conclusions into revisions of product, marketing and sales strategy.

  • Identifies and joins appropriate industry associations, develops extensive network of industry, utilizes network to disseminate product information and collect industry and market intelligence.

  • Implements sales and promotional programs, new product information, and related efforts  directed toward a specific major industry or customer base.

  • Provide market/trend/competition information to sales and engineering with recommendations for management decisions.

  • Support and perform customer trials and demonstrations, support new product trials with customers and provide detailed feedback to sales, product management, engineering, and operations

  • Compiles and submits accurate sales reports on a timely basis.
  • Works with minimum guidance and direction from Sales & Marketing leaders, proactively performing assigned duties in accordance with company performance standards.

  • Maintains full compliance with Company policies/procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the Guide to Business Conduct. 
  • Ensure full adherence to company Environmental, Health and Safety policies at all times, including customer visits and travel.

Demonstrate a knowledge of and commitment to Advanced Business Systems principles and techniques.


  • A Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, and/or Engineering from an accredited university. 
  • 2+ years of sales experience with organizations engaged in the sale, marketing, and distribution of industrial products.  
  • Proven ability to turn leads into actual sales. 

  • Effective in managing the demands of both the business and the customer

  • Able to build strong and effective working relationships at all levels, both externally as well as internally 

  • Able to travel approximately 50%-75% of the time

  • Energetic with a tenacious approach

  • Methodical approach with a strong eye for detail

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with the ability to think outside the box and develop new approaches

  • Able to prioritize effectively and escalate issues as appropriate

  • Solid knowledge and experience in Sales and Marketing in an industrial products environment. 

  • Proficient IT skills – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CRM

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and persuasion skills. 

  • Ability to work independently, prioritizing and completing multiple work assignments with minimal direction. 

  • Capable of working under high levels of stress while maintaining a high level of productivity.

  • Strong written skills, including reports
