Job Description

Deville Steel is looking for a reliable and experienced CDL Driver to join their delivery team. This is a role that involves the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of steel products within a 150-mile radius. It is a local position (not over-the-road), ideal for candidates seeking stability, daily home time, and a supportive work culture. This person will operate out of the Deville Steel location which is part of the Falcon family!

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Class A vehicles safely, in full compliance with traffic and transportation laws.
  • Execute skilled backing maneuvers into docks and customer locations.
  • Load and unload steel cargo securely to avoid in-transit damage.
  • Conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections and report maintenance issues.
  • Engage with customers respectfully and professionally during deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate logs and delivery records (e.g., inspection reports, receipts).
  • Coordinate with dispatch and team members about routes, issues, or delays.
  • Contribute to internal shop projects as neededโ€”problem-solving and hands-on work encouraged.
Qualifications
  • Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
  • Prior experience in flatbed transportation preferred.
  • Competent in using GPS/navigation systems and planning efficient routes.
  • Able to manage DOT-compliant logbooks and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
  • Willingness to complete duties, as assigned, in the shop when not making deliveries.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (30-50lbs)
  • Ability to work in and be exposed to varying weather conditions
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

Compensation & Schedule
  • Pay: $18โ€“$20/hour (based on experience)
  • Additional Pay: $10 per stop (2-3 stops per day common)
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM โ€“ 4:00 PM
