Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Distribution Manager, will provide all aspects of leadership to HP Hood site drivers as well as the Distribution/Transportation Department by collaborating with drivers on the road conducting audits and training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
โ€ข Provide all aspects of leadership to HP Hood site drivers and the Distribution/Transportation Department.
โ€ข New Hire trainings to include at least two ride alongs a week.
โ€ข Minimum of 50% of work schedule will be on the road conducting audits and trainings.
โ€ข Assist the team in all aspects of promoting the company safety program, immediately identifying, and eliminating risks and driving safe work habits and behaviors.
โ€ข Assist Distribution Management on all motor vehicle accident reports and conduct injury reporting and investigations.
โ€ข Provide daily updates to internal and external customers on an as needed basis.
โ€ข Monitor route times
โ€ข Participate in investigations and assist to resolve customer complaints as needed.
โ€ข Assist in management of company fleet needs and equipment repairs.
โ€ข Maintain DOT, HOS, and FMCSA compliance.
โ€ข Function as a back-up to drive routes in the event of a driver call out.
โ€ข Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
โ€ข CDL-A required.
โ€ข Experience in route structuring, safety, and customer satisfaction
โ€ข Proven knowledge of DOT, FMCSA and HOS regulations and distribution safety management
โ€ข Prior experience in supervising commercial drivers preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
โ€ข Excellent people skills required.
โ€ข Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
โ€ข Microsoft Office & Outlook.

Physical Demands:
Position is primarily based in an office environment but is subject to the same physical demands of the drivers - please see the attached list of physical demands.
SQF Requirements/Responsibilities
โ€ข Support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.
โ€ข Support biosecurity and GMP measures.
โ€ข Work with SQF site lead and HR to support SQF training efforts.
โ€ข Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
โ€ข Backup duties are covered by other distribution supervisor or the distribution Manager when not on site.
Site Specific Requirements:
โ€ข Maintain SQF Documentation and prepare reports (if requested).
โ€ข Serves a backup for the Distribution Drivers and their SQF responsibilities.
