Job description

Logistics Manager
Our client is seeking a Logistics & Inventory Manager to lead transportation, warehousing, and inventory activities across multiple operating sites. Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Planning, this hands-on leadership role is responsible for coordinating freight movement, inventory placement, and site-to-site distribution while balancing service reliability, inventory investment, and operating costs. The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with strong execution to support efficient, compliant, and scalable operations.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Direct inbound, outbound, and inter-site freight activities across all operating locations
  • Improve network performance through effective stocking strategies, lane design, and site coordination
  • Manage carrier, 3PL, freight forwarder, and customs broker relationships, including contract negotiations and performance reviews
  • Control freight spends and transportation budgets while identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Maintain compliance with transportation, customs, trade, and safety requirements
  • Implement robust inventory control practices, including cycle counting and physical inventory programs
  • Design storage and yard layouts that improve throughput, safety, and space utilization
  • Lead shipping and inventory teams, set clear expectations, and standardize operational practices across locations
  • Conduct regular site visits to review operations, support staff, and identify improvement opportunities
  • Track KPIs such as fill rate, OTIF performance, freight cost as a percentage of revenue, and inventory accuracy, and communicate results to leadership
  • Promote accountability, operational discipline, and continuous improvement across the logistics function solutions
Your strengths include:
  • Experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in logistics, inventory, warehouse, or distribution environments, including leadership responsibilities
  • Demonstrated success managing operations across multiple sites or distribution centers
  • Strong knowledge of WMS, ERP, and transportation management systems (TMS)
  • Proven ability to negotiate with carriers and 3PL providers and manage transportation budgets effectively
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze data, build reports, and support decision-making
  • Working knowledge of international logistics, customs processes, and Incoterms
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership capabilities
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel regularly between operating sites (approximately 25-35%)
  • Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) or other continuous improvement certifications are considered an asset
