Purpose of Position:


 Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable produce. Del Monte Foods has a powerful portfolio of brands, including the iconic Del Monte®, Contadina® and S&W®. We are currently seeking Seasonal Distribution Supervisor. 


The Temporary Distribution Supervisor provides direct supervision for the distribution operations and labeling operations for hourly and seasonal personnel.


Accountabilities:


  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety rules. 
  • Schedules and oversees distribution and label line staff. 
  • Responsible for managing the special packaging, labeling functions to ensure volume and variable costs are within guidelines set by the annual operating plan.
  • Responsible for directing training and development of full-time hourly and seasonal employees to achieve desired quality, safety, and production goals.
  • Obtain variable production costs that meet or exceeds operating plan.
  • Provide direction and leadership to maintain and centralize labeling, packaging, and distribution functions to operate at approved levels set in annual operating plan.
  • Responsible to ensure that volume efficiencies and fixed and variable cost containments stay within guidelines set by annual operating plan.
  • Ensure accurate inventory of finished product is maintained.
  • Assist in directing capital improvement and maintenance programs.
  • Responsible for adjusting staff to improve variable costs and efficiencies.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of capital budget projects as assigned to ensure effective and efficient installations that will achieve desired operational results.
  • Ensure compliance with all approved and applicable safety rules.
  • Promote positive employee/labor relations, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory obligations and corporate guidelines regarding personnel management. 
  • Support and facilitate in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.


Minimum Skills Required:


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliable attendance required 
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of personnel
  • Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Previous Lean Manufacturing experience
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or warehousing
  • 4-year degree in Logistics, Business or Engineering preferred or combination of Associates Degree and 2-3 years of experience.
