Job description

We are seeking an experienced Manager of Distribution and Logistics to oversee the daily operations of our warehouse, delivery, fleet, and distribution functions. This position is responsible for leading the branch distribution team while ensuring operational excellence, inventory accuracy, equipment reliability, customer service, and compliance with company and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
  • Supervise and assign work to warehouse, delivery, fleet, and fuel distribution personnel.
  • Train, coach, measure, and evaluate team performance.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure employees follow company policies, uniform requirements, and safety standards.
  • Promote professional, courteous customer service.

Warehouse & Inventory
  • Oversee receiving, storing, picking, packing, shipping, and loading of materials.
  • Establish and maintain efficient warehouse processes and inventory control procedures.
  • Conduct and assist with physical inventory counts and resolve shortages or discrepancies.
  • Oversee bulk product repacking and loading onto delivery vehicles.
  • Ensure materials are properly packed, labeled, stored, and documented.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork and system records throughout warehouse and distribution operations.

Delivery, Fleet & Equipment
  • Manage delivery scheduling, route sequencing, documentation, and delivery accuracy.
  • Oversee vehicle, equipment, and tank farm maintenance, safety, and daily operations, as applicable.
  • Establish standards for vehicle equipment and accessories and ensure daily compliance.
  • Maintain required DOT documentation, monitor driver hours of service, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Ensure delivery tickets and customer paperwork are accurate and properly completed.

Safety & Facility Management
  • Establish and maintain safety standards throughout the distribution operation.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and monitor compliance with company safety requirements.
  • Ensure warehouse, storage, shipping areas, vehicles, and equipment are clean, organized, and safe.
  • Ensure accidents, incidents, and moving violations are properly reported and documented.

Customer Service & Operations
  • Respond professionally to customer, delivery, warehouse, and sales inquiries.
  • Communicate delivery concerns, inventory shortages, and discrepancies to sales and branch management.
  • Maintain accurate operational files and records.
  • Support company programs, policies, goals, and initiatives.
  • Assist with physical inventories and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Previous experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, delivery, fleet, or branch operations preferred.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • General computer proficiency.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, delivery processes, and routing preferred.
  • Safety and compliance experience preferred.
  • Material Handling Equipment certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Ability to understand and follow DOT requirements, company policies, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively with warehouse, delivery, sales, and management teams.
