We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to support our client with water infrastructure utilities. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on various projects that focus on environmental conservation and sustainable development.
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing projects withinwater infrastructure specifically overseeing the design team in the preparation of plans and specifications for drinking water capital improvement projects. You will collaborate with a highly motivated team of engineers and professionals to develop innovative solutions that minimize the impact on natural resources and promote long-term sustainability.
Job Functions:
  • Lead a design team to perform or manage multiple potable water supply, treatment, storage, and distribution design projects. Prepares design plans and specifications
  • Plans, directs, assigns, reviews, and evaluates the work of all assigned staff. This includes preparing performance evaluations and career development profiles for all direct reports, as necessary
  • Prioritizes assigned design projects within the area of responsibility. Monitors and reports on design project schedules and budgets, and implements corrective actions when needed
  • Ensures design team meets design schedules and budgets for all assigned water supply and distribution design projects
  • Performs QA/QC on design projects by other engineers and consultants
  • Performs engineering design services associated with the development of Capital Improvement Programs and related design documents such as preliminary design reports, project cost estimates, cost/benefit analysis, value engineering reviews, and various evaluations and reports concerning system hydraulics, water supply, distribution, storage, treatment and water quality projects
  • Performs engineering design services and/or supervision of design services associated with new business projects

Responsibilities:
  • Designing and developing infrastructure projects
  • Conducting site investigations and surveys to gather project data and assess environmental impact
  • Preparing detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for projects
  • Performing structural analysis and calculations to ensure the strength and stability of structures
  • Collaborating with other engineers and professionals to ensure project objectives are met
  • Conducting regular inspections and assessments to identify and address potential risks or issues
  • Design services, such as: reports, cost estimates and analyses, reviews, and evaluations regarding system hydraulics, water supply and distribution, storage, treatment, and water quality

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license REQUIRED
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in water
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant design software
  • Extensive familiarity with environmental regulations and permitting procedures
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
