We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Supervisor, Distribution Design to join our team at K&A Power Group in Pleasanton, CA. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. Role Expectations:
  • Provide leadership to the distribution design engineering team.
  • Expert level knowledge and understanding of electrical power distribution design in overhead and underground utility.
  • Provide technical leadership in complex projects or processes that have a wide impact on the business.
  • Manage the design and work process between the customer, contractors, utilities, and others involved in the process.
  • Review quality and accuracy of field notes and designs and work with Engineers, Field Engineering Representatives, construction supervisors, and field employees to resolve issues identified.
  • Providing expert guidance and support to develop a team that is continually growing through training, support, and the needed growth capabilities.
  • Directly manage assigned projects following Client and other applicable corporate and function procedures and policies. Responsible and accountable for overall project performance.
  • Identify and direct project team and integrate all assigned resources. Ensure project team members understand their respective responsibilities and lead team to completion of assigned tasks.
  • Lead the project delivery process including initiation, authorization, planning, design, engineering, material procurement, construction, commissioning, and close out.
  • Responsible for project updates and metrics tracking, associated reporting to stakeholders, and compliance with corporate and function procedures.
  • Own the QA/QC processes and execution procedures to ensure safety is the number one priority.
  • Promoting a culture of "can do attitude" and "say do" ratio with project deadline and quality across the team.

What we're looking for:
  • Prior PG&E Experience
  • 3-5 years Supervisory to lead teams Experience
  • Experience using O'Calc, AutoCAD
  • Experience designing, O7D, 3UG, O8W, New Business or Capacity Planning
  • Overhead and Underground design experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in related to distribution power delivery field
  • Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools. General understanding of utility operations
  • Proficiency with financial analysis tools in a utility setting
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with competing priorities and stressful situations
  • Ability to collaborate across departments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Pay Range $110,000 - 180,000/year
