Job description

Warehouse Supervisor / Distribution Supervisor - Full-Time
Distribution Company | Troy, Michigan

Salary: $60,000-$70,000 per year (Salaried, Non-Exempt - Straight-Time Overtime Paid)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (42.5-45 hours per week, 30-minute unpaid lunch). Additional hours paid at straight time.

We're seeking a strong, take-charge Warehouse Supervisor to own daily operations in our fast-paced distribution center in Troy, Michigan. This role is designed for a decisive, hands-on leader who is comfortable leading from the floor, making real-time decisions, enforcing standards, and addressing performance or safety issues immediately when they arise.

This is a working supervisor position, not an office role. You will spend the majority of your time on the warehouse floor overseeing shipping, receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, picking, and material handling operations. You will directly supervise warehouse associates, assign work, monitor productivity in real time, enforce safety protocols, and step in physically when needed to keep operations moving efficiently.

You will operate forklifts, assist with loading and unloading, resolve workflow bottlenecks, and maintain inventory accuracy. When challenges arise - whether staffing issues, process breakdowns, or missed targets - you will take ownership, confront them directly, and implement solutions without delay. You will also collaborate with management to improve warehouse layout, inventory systems, and operating procedures, with a focus on continuous improvement, efficiency, and accountability.

Minimum Experience Requirements

  • At least two years of supervisory or leadership experience in any work environment

  • At least two years of hands-on warehouse or distribution experience (these experiences do not need to be from the same role or employer)

Forklift operation experience is required, with certification preferred. Solid computer skills for inventory tracking and reporting are necessary, along with the ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds. This role requires a firm, safety-focused leader who leads by example, maintains high standards, and holds teams accountable.

Compensation for this position ranges from $60,000 to $70,000 annually, based on experience and demonstrated leadership capability. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance after 90 days, a 401(k) with company match after one year, and tuition assistance after 90 days. The warehouse is clean, organized, and professionally run, with predictable weekday hours. There are no attendance bonuses; this is a stable salary role with straight-time overtime paid for additional hours worked.

This is a long-term opportunity for a results-oriented Warehouse Supervisor who wants real ownership of warehouse operations in a stable distribution company. If you are ready to take control, lead from the floor, and build a high-performing warehouse team through direct, no-nonsense leadership, we encourage you to apply.

Equal Opportunity Employer
The Distribution Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will be considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status.
