Position OverviewAs a Warehouse Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager, you will maintain the safety and security programs under the direction of the Security Director with functional guidance from the Regional EHS Manager, and will be responsible for successfully integrating EHS and Security initiatives into the functional operation of the facility by implementing systems, processes, and procedures to prevent injuries, violations of the law or company policies, and minimize the environmental impact of our operations, while working to supervise the guard force and conduct investigations.Job Description

  • Create high service and productivity expectations among team members, monitor individual and team performance and takes action to correct performance gaps and address improvement opportunities.
  • Assess daily and weekly work habits, identify trends in vehicle and workers' compensation accidents and direct the allocation of people and best safety practices to address identified issues at assigned distribution center.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for team members and visitors at the assigned distribution center in accordance with company policies and health and safety regulations.
  • Review and evaluate performance of the various functions, address performance gaps and take corrective action as needed to ensure the warehouse and transportation teams are delivering on safety and security goals.
  • Assess business conditions, evaluate business needs and take action to address opportunities to improve service, reduce costs and enhance safety and security results of assigned distribution center.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of the physical security systems to including closed-caption television and alarm and fire protection systems and consistently use these tools to detect, investigate and resolve problems associated with acts of dishonesty, safety or exposure to loss.
  • Oversee scheduling of work teams and initiate short and long term planning with supervisors to ensure the assigned distribution center meets the needs of the business under different and changing business conditions.
