About the Role
As Operations Manager, you'll play a defining role in the success of our banking center. You'll lead efforts to grow our customer base, drive sales and service excellence, and bring our promise of here for possibilities to life for every customer who walks through our doors. Alongside this, you'll oversee daily operations, compliance, and internal controls, ensuring the banking center runs smoothly while cultivating a culture grounded in high ethical standards and exceptional service.
As the primary operations leader of the banking center, you will be accountable for sales growth, customer experience, and operational soundness. Success in this role calls for strong self-determination, the ability to influence and inspire others, and a consistent commitment to our organizational values and culture. We're looking for a leader who takes genuine pride in building a high-performing team and delivering outstanding customer experience.
What You'll Do

Leadership & Culture
  • Supervise daily work scheduling and workflow to keep operations running efficiently.
  • Create a positive, professional environment where teamwork, collaboration, and service excellence thrive.
  • Act as a role model for Customer Service Representatives and Tellers by leading through example.
  • Ensure operations comply with Bank policies and all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the primary operations leader of the banking center, aligning day-to-day strategy with the Location Manager.

Develop and Lead Your Team
  • Manage hiring, onboarding, training, and performance development for your team.
  • Provide regular coaching, one-on-one meetings, and feedback to drive engagement and accountability.
  • Balance high expectations with support and encouragement to promote individual and team success.
  • Partner with the Location Manager, HR, and Chief Operations Officer on employee relations matters, ensuring fairness and adherence to policy.

Operational Excellence & Compliance
  • Maintain accountability for compliance, risk, and audit standards while delegating daily task execution to your team.
  • Proactively address operational issues and drive sustainable, long-term solutions.
  • Oversee branch facilities, marketing materials, and overall customer experience standards.
  • Ensure all banking center transactions balance at the close of each business day and oversee proper cash-handling procedures.
  • Periodically verify cash held by tellers and on the premises to safeguard bank assets.

Community Engagement
  • Represent FirstBank in the community through civic, service, and business organizations.
  • Build visibility and credibility through consistent involvement in local events, activities, and partnerships.
  • Partner with the Sales Ambassador Director to support community-based sales initiatives and outreach.

Other Responsibilities
  • Complete all required compliance and regulatory training annually.
  • Adhere to FirstBank policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Maintain a professional appearance consistent with bank guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
