Perform a wide variety of duties to maintain and control accurate levels of inventory in grocery and perishable warehouses. This includes the evaluation and entering of data information into warehouse systems, technical support to receiving and shipping departments, and exchange information as needed with customers in retail, merchandising, trucking, and distribution. Job Duties:
  • Assign items select slots based on the strategy of achieving retail and distribution operational productivity while ensuring the safety of associates and product
  • Maintain integrity of slotting strategy through analysis and continual alignment of slot profiles with item velocity.
  • Execute and maintain processes for inventory department independently or without supervision
  • Able to perform complex research and analysis to identify, diagnosis, and resolve problems
  • Be communicator and contact for business partners and customers outside of distribution center and address concerns in a positive manner
  • Maintain accurate inventory of all departments within distribution center
  • Monitor warehouse damage and initiate resolution
  • Notify appropriate department leads for product discrepancies
  • Utilize reports to assist Distribution in investigating and expediting issues related to inventory discrepancies and audit results
  • Maintain accurate, organized files for all department responsibilities for efficient access to necessary information
  • Perform daily warehouse responsibilities in areas related to shipping, receiving and/or inventory management within established time frames.
  • Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting their work group or distribution center that will maximize efficiency, productive, and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity.
  • Understand Food Safety handling techniques, practices and expectations for the work environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
  • Expert knowledge with WMS and supporting systems
  • Seasoned knowledge of inventory practices, procedures and research techniques
  • Excellent customer service, communication, verbal and written skills
  • Demonstrate effective and successful leadership skills by producing positive results in the maintaining of accurate inventory
  • Meet production standards set by the company
  • Read and understand written and numeric product identifiers
  • Must be able to work needed schedule to perform assigned duties
  • Proficient use of computer for data entry and research purposes
  • Highly motivated, self-starter and team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple task in a fast-paced environment
  • Reach, stoop, bend and lift up to and including 60 lbs.
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (i.e. cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks)
  • Education and Experience
  • High School education
  • Certified on a powered industrial equipment where applicable
  • Familiarity/experience in a distribution environment preferred
  • 3+ years' experience in Inventory Management Operations or job functions
