Distribution Center Manager

CRAFTS GROUP LLC

Grand Prairie, TX • On-site

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO

Job description

At Local Crafts, we're the creative force behind some of the most beloved names in crafting, including Connecting Threads, Superior Threads, Knit Picks, Crochet.com, and Berroco. From our own workshops to trusted partners around the globe, we design and curate products makers reach for every day: the fabrics, threads, yarns, and tools that turn ideas into finished pieces.

Local Crafts is looking for a Distribution Center Manager to take full ownership of our Grand Prairie, TX production and distribution facility, serving our wholesale brands. This is a rare chance to build and refine a warehouse operation in its early stages: the processes, the culture, and the standards that will define how this site runs for years to come

What You'll Do

  • Take full ownership of daily operations at the Grand Prairie facility, including receiving, production, inventory, picking/packing, and outbound shipping.
  • Build the operational foundation for a brand new site: establish SOPs, staffing plans, and shift coverage from scratch.
  • Lead and mentor area managers, supervisors, and warehouse teams, building a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive improvements in order accuracy, inventory control, productivity, and throughput as the facility ramps up.
  • Identify bottlenecks and develop scalable solutions through root cause analysis and structured process improvement methods.
  • Act as a power user of our WMS, ERP (NetSuite), and warehouse automation systems, and champion consistent, system-driven workflows across the team.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized facility that meets OSHA and company standards.
  • Partner with customer service, procurement, supply chain planning, finance, product, and technology teams to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Collaborate with HR on hiring, employee relations, onboarding, and training as you build out your team.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of warehouse or distribution leadership experience, including managing managers or supervisors.
  • Experience overseeing multi-department operations or leading end-to-end fulfillment.
  • A demonstrated track record of building or improving processes and implementing standardized workflows.
  • Experience in e-commerce, direct-to-consumer, or small-parcel distribution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a comfort level using data to guide decisions.
  • Experience with WMS/ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and warehouse automation tools.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

You'll Thrive Here If

  • You genuinely want to build something new rather than maintain something established.
  • You've led layout redesigns, capacity planning, or facility launches before.
  • You have Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement training.
  • You've worked in SKU-intensive environments like crafts, textiles, beauty, or consumer goods.
  • You take ownership seriously and hold yourself and your team to a high standard.

Additional Information

  • This is an on-site role based in Grand Prairie, TX, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
  • Schedule is 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) with company match; paid time off; and parental leave.
  • Employee discounts across all Local Crafts brands, including Connecting Threads, Superior Threads, Knit Picks, Crochet.com, and Berroco.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; Local Crafts is unable to sponsor employment visas for this position.
  • Role may require the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
