Job description

As a UniFirst Supervisor, you are required to enforce company policies and procedures for all team partners. Ensure that the workflow is constantly on the move. Must have strong communication skills. Address safety issues and ensure safety for all team partners. As a supervisor you will administer progressive discipline, coach, train and develop team partners; order supplies and track expenses.

Responsibilities:

  • Enforce company policies and procedures including, but not limited to, work performance, quality, and attendance.
  • Understand and administer progressive discipline, in compliance with UniFirst Policies and Procedures.
  • Responsible for the training and development of employees.
  • Assign work duties as needed.
  • Supervise the Distribution Area in planning, organizing, and directing daily operations and workflow.
  • Ensure timely flow of work throughout Processing Areas.
  • Responsible for ordering supplies and tracking budgeted expenses.
  • Will be required to work overtime as necessary.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
  • Must be willing and able to take an active role in plant wide safety activities.
  • Conduct periodic meetings with your employees (if applicable) to include safety related issues or items. Periodic could mean weekly, monthly, bi-monthly quarterly, etc.
  • Authority to ensure that hazards are corrected or necessary changes to the safety and health management system are addressed

Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree (AS) or Bachelor’s Degree (BA) Preferred
  • Two or more years of related experience and/or training in field
  • Equivalent combination of Education and Experience
  • Knowledge and background in distribution systems driven environment
  • Required to read and write English and follow verbal and/or written instructions
  • Should be proficient in computer programs, such as spreadsheets and databases.
  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, which includes the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, and customers.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instruction.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess the ability to hear, talk, see, and distinguish between colors.
  • In addition, this position requires cross-training in other areas of the facility.
