Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate

Atlanta, GA | New York, NY | Wilmington, DE

$250,000 – $390,000 + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

Direct Counsel represents an AmLaw 100 firm seeking a Mid-Level Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate to join its nationally recognized practice in Atlanta, New York, or Wilmington, with a strong preference for the New York office.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney with 3–5 years of bankruptcy and restructuring experience who is looking to work on sophisticated, high-profile matters alongside a collaborative national team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent debtors, creditors, lenders, investors, and other stakeholders in complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters.
  • Handle Chapter 11 proceedings, out-of-court restructurings, distressed M&A transactions, and creditor negotiations.
  • Advise clients on distressed investing, private credit, and capital solutions.
  • Participate in distressed asset sales and acquisitions.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of bankruptcy and restructuring experience at a law firm or similar environment.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent writing, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage complex legal issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar admission in the jurisdiction where the candidate intends to practice.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $250,000–$390,000, depending on experience.
  • Discretionary performance bonus.
