Job description

Services may include Respite, Attendant Care and/or Habiliation

  1. Respite Care:
    • Offers temporary relief to primary caregivers, allowing them time to rest or attend to other responsibilities.
    • Engages with clients in their homes or in specialized facilities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
    • Tailors activities to suit the individual needs and interests of each client, including recreational activities or simple companionship.
  2. Attendant Care:
    • Assists clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
    • Helps with household tasks like cooking, cleaning, and running errands.
    • Provides support with mobility, including transfers and assistance with walking or wheelchair use.
    • Monitors medication schedules and assists with basic healthcare needs.
  3. Habilitation Services:
    • Focuses on developing and maintaining the life skills of individuals with developmental disabilities.
    • Creates and implements personalized habilitation plans targeting areas such as communication skills, social skills, and self-care.
    • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals, such as occupational therapists and speech therapists, to provide a holistic approach to care.
    • Regularly evaluates and adjusts habilitation plans based on the individual's progress and changing needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A current CPR certificate
  • A current First Aid certificate
  • A current Article 9 certificate
  • Fingerprint clearance card
  • 18 years of age
  • A completed declaration of criminal history
  • Maintains and demonstrates competence in the field of developmental disabilities.
