What is a distiller?

Distillers are professionals who operate equipment to separate components of liquids through distillation, typically to produce spirits like whiskey, vodka, or gin. Their work involves monitoring temperatures, pressures, and chemical reactions to ensure high-quality and safe alcoholic products. Distillers also oversee fermentation, blending, and sometimes bottling processes. They may work in large commercial distilleries or small craft operations, and their role often requires a strong understanding of chemistry, safety protocols, and quality control.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a distiller, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Distiller, you need a solid understanding of chemistry, fermentation processes, and quality control, often supported by a degree in chemical engineering, food science, or relevant experience in beverage production. Familiarity with distillation equipment, laboratory testing tools, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards is essential. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective teamwork are standout soft skills in this role. These skills ensure the production of high-quality spirits, operational efficiency, and adherence to industry regulations.

What are some common challenges faced by distillers in maintaining product consistency?

Distillers often face the challenge of maintaining product consistency due to variations in raw materials, environmental factors, and equipment. Even small changes in grain quality, water composition, or fermentation temperatures can impact the final flavor and quality of the spirit. To address this, distillers must closely monitor each stage of the production process, regularly calibrate equipment, and keep detailed production records. Consistent communication with quality control teams and ongoing training also play a vital role in ensuring a high-quality, consistent product.

How much money does a distilling make?

A distilling worker's salary varies depending on experience, location, and specific role, but generally ranges from $30,000 to $70,000 annually. Skilled workers with certifications and experience in quality control or production management tend to earn higher wages. The job often involves working in manufacturing environments with safety and precision requirements.

Is distilling a hard job?

Distilling can be physically demanding and requires attention to detail, precision, and knowledge of safety protocols. It often involves working in environments with heat, fumes, and machinery, and may require certifications or training to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Job description

Director of Account Based Marketing

Perform[cb] | Full-Time | Remote

About the Role

We're hiring a Director of Account Based Marketing (ABM) to own the execution and continued evolution of our account-based marketing program. This is a high-impact individual contributor role reporting directly to the Head of Marketing, sitting at the intersection of marketing, sales, and revenue operations.

Our marketer-focused ABM engine is already built and running. Since launching, we've scaled campaigns across our top verticals, tested promotional incentives, and activated trade show targeting. The momentum is real — now we need someone to help us go further, faster.

This role is ideal for a senior B2B marketer who thrives in execution, loves testing new ideas, and knows how to translate intent signals into pipeline impact. You'll work daily alongside a dedicated agency partner and in close alignment with our sales team and rev ops function to keep our marketer ABM program dialed in and driving results.

What You'll Do

Campaign Execution & Optimization

  • Own day-to-day execution of ABM campaigns across our top verticals: FinTech, Consumer Commerce; Lifestyle/Health/Entertainment; Lending/Credit/Housing; Insurance, and beyond (both mobile app and desktop)
  • Monitor and analyze campaign dashboards to surface insights, flag opportunities, and guide weekly optimizations

  • Drive targeting and 1:1 communications strategies around top prospect accounts

  • Execute industry trade show ABM activations, identifying ICP-aligned attendees and coordinating timely, relevant outreach and on-site engagement opportunities

  • Lead creative strategy and optimization across ABM campaigns, working closely with the Brand & Content Marketing Manager who will execute.

Sales & Revenue Ops Alignment

  • Work closely with BDR/sales reps and sales leadership to ensure ABM intent signals translate into timely, personalized outreach
  • Partner with rev ops on account list management, recruitment priorities, and key account firmographics

  • Support 1:1 and 1:many pipeline velocity plays and help develop outreach sequences that keep engaged contacts moving forward

Testing & Ideation

  • Propose and run structured ABM experiments — new channels, personalization approaches, promotional incentives, ad creative, and more
  • Bring forward creative, data-informed ideas that align with our broader new business goals

  • Track and report on weekly campaign performance, distilling results into clear recommendations

What You Bring
  • 7+ years in B2B marketing, with hands-on ABM campaign experience

  • Experience in the performance marketing or affiliate marketing industry is strongly preferred — our business is complex, and industry fluency makes a real difference

  • Proficiency with ABM platforms (6sense, Demandbase, RollWorks, or similar)

  • Comfortable in Salesforce; able to connect CRM data to campaign strategy

  • Experience collaborating with an external ABM agency or marketing vendor

  • Strong analytical mindset — you know how to read a dashboard, draw a conclusion, and act on it

  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills; you work well with sales and ops teams, not just marketing

  • Detail-oriented and execution-focused, with the ability to manage multiple active campaigns simultaneously

Bonus Points
  • Experience with self-serve programmatic/DSPs and/or paid media within ABM platforms

  • Familiarity with performance marketing verticals: financial services, streaming/entertainment, ecommerce as well as mobile app ecosystem

  • Prior involvement with industry event or trade show marketing activations

  • Background working in a high-growth, fast-moving marketing environment
