Job description

Company Description Leiper’s Fork Distillery is a genuine small-batch whiskey producer located in Williamson County, Tennessee, with an on-site tasting experience in Franklin, TN. Since 2016, the distillery has focused on reviving the traditional small-batch whiskey-making methods that once defined middle Tennessee. The team honors Tennessee’s historic place among the world’s leading whiskey regions by crafting premium spirits with careful attention to detail. All whiskeys are mashed, fermented, distilled, aged, and bottled in-house to strict specifications, with an annual production of just 25,000 gallons. Team members join a craft-focused environment that values heritage, quality, and hands-on production.

Role Description The Bartender role is a full-time, on-site position based at Leiper’s Fork Distillery’s House of Spirits location in downtown Franklin, TN. The Bartender will welcome guests, take orders, and prepare a variety of whiskey-based and other beverages in alignment with distillery standards and local regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing knowledgeable tasting room service, explaining product offerings and distillery history, and guiding guests through tasting flights. The role involves maintaining a clean and organized bar area, restocking supplies, and ensuring all glassware, tools, and work surfaces meet hygiene and safety standards. The Bartender will handle cash and electronic payments accurately, manage tabs, and reconcile transactions at the end of each shift. Additional tasks may include supporting events, assisting with product merchandising, and collaborating with team members to deliver a consistent, high-quality guest experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage guests and provide an informative, welcoming experience.
  • Hands-on bartending and food & beverage skills, including mixing drinks, serving tastings, and following responsible service guidelines.
  • Accurate cash handling skills and comfort with point-of-sale systems, receipts, and end-of-shift reconciliation.
  • Interest in or experience with whiskey, spirits, or craft beverages, including willingness to learn product details and distillery processes.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights (such as cases of bottles), and work evenings, weekends, and events as needed.
  • Previous experience in a bar, tasting room, or hospitality environment preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of or readiness to obtain any required local or state alcohol service certifications.
  • Reliable, professional, and team-oriented approach, with a commitment to safety, cleanliness, and brand standards.
