Job description

Position Summary: Temperature Controls Technician

R.W. LaPine is seeking a full-time Temperature Controls Technician to join our growing team. This position offers a competitive compensation package with excellent benefits!

As a Temperature Controls Technician, you will serve as the main client liaison for our controls service customers. This position will also be responsible for the entire life cycle of system controls including quoting, repairing, and monitoring client controls systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals for controls projects.
  • Diagnose and complete repairs on control systems to ensure reliable operation and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage controls projects from initiation through completion, providing regular status updates and maintaining clear communication with customers.
  • Develop custom DDC (Direct Digital Control) programming for a wide range of applications, including user-friendly graphical interfaces for efficient system monitoring and operation.
  • Create detailed electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to support system design, installation, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience 5+ years as a Project Manager or as a Control Technician.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time and project management skills
  • Experience working in the trade industry *Preferred
  • Niagara 4 Certification
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects at various stages
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with general contractors, construction managers, internal departments, vendors, subcontractors, VDC, shop, and field trades
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience with Honeywell, JCI and DISTECH Controls

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to navigate active construction sites, including walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs or ladders, and standing or walking for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50+ lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments including indoor office settings, mechanical rooms, rooftops, and outdoor job sites in various weather conditions.
  • Valid Drivers License and acceptable driving record.
