ADULT AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION
The full-time AEL Instructor supports adults in earning their High School Equivalency and building foundational academic skills through distance and virtual education. This position requires a work from home office with reliable high-speed internet service. The teacher will be provided with a laptop computer. Office furniture and internet service are not provided.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to-
  • Create an engaging, supportive rapport with students through email, phone, video conference, and distance learning platforms.
  • Develop individualized learning plans based on student assessments, goals, and progress to ensure each learner receives targeted support. Monitor, document, and evaluate student progress using required assessments and instructional tools, adjusting instruction as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports including attendance, student data, and instructional documentation as required by the program and the Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE).
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by program leadership to support the mission and compliance of the Missouri AEL program.

Qualifications-
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Ability to become certified by the State of Missouri to teach Adult Education & Literacy
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Teaching experience, preferably in adult education and/or distance learning

Terms of Employment- Full-Time with benefits
Salary: $21.00 per hour
