Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a pivotal leadership role as the Director of Pharmacy at a respected acute care hospital serving Chicago’s South Shore community since 1912. This direct hire position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $165,000 to $185,000 annually, complemented by a $3,000 annual bonus and relocation considerations for eligible candidates. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a pharmacy team in a historic, nonprofit hospital dedicated to providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care.

Location:

  • Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood

Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday through Friday: 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM
  • Saturday and Sunday: 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide full-spectrum leadership and management of inpatient hospital pharmacy operations including clinical, staffing, financial, and administrative duties
  • Collaborate closely with hospital administration and interdisciplinary clinical teams to ensure optimal pharmaceutical care and compliance
  • Oversee a diverse pharmacy team consisting of 20 total staff members across full-time, part-time, and PRN roles
  • Ensure adherence to Joint Commission and CMS regulatory standards
  • Foster a culture committed to community health and supporting an underserved patient population

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Illinois Pharmacist License in good standing (mandatory)
  • Minimum three years of Director of Pharmacy experience in an acute care inpatient hospital setting (mandatory)
  • At least three years of acute care inpatient hospital pharmacy experience (mandatory)
  • PharmD degree strongly preferred
  • Board certification and hospital pharmacy residency completion considered strong advantages
  • Proven ability to manage a multi-level pharmacy staff including full-time, part-time, and PRN employees
  • Background in community or safety net hospital pharmacy operations preferred
